Stopped by here the other day with my mom after an exhausting 7 hour trip to DC. The food was great and the owner Sandeep was very nice. Great customer service if I’m ever back in DC will def visit again. Every dish we had was flavorful.

Jab We Met Indian Kitchen was an awesome surprise — the food was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, with bold spices and great balance.
We stopped in during happy hour and loved the cocktails — creative, well-made, and a great value. The service was warm and attentive without being rushed, and the atmosphere felt relaxed enough to enjoy a long meal.
Whether you’re craving classic Indian dishes or just want a great spot for drinks and bites with friends, Jab We Met delivers. We’ll definitely be back!

Review on Food Quality Only: 2.5 out of 5 stars — Indian food is known for its amazing combo of flavors & spices that light up your taste buds… This place is not it. Ordered the lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, mango lassi, and butter naan. The “Desi spicy” vindaloo lacked heat… It was barely a “mild-medium” on a dish known for being notoriously hot and making folks of the paler persuasion sweat (and sometimes cry). The curry sauce was thin, borderline gruel like, and tasted watery. The chicken tikka masala wasn’t much better, same issues. There was a significant lack of flavor/spices in both dishes. The mango lassi was on the sour side and the butter naan dry/hard. The Bollywood film may have a 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating, but this restaurant? Not by a long shot. Really hoping for improved quality & authentic flavors in the near future - This is DC: we want that PUNCH of flavor, bring the spices & heat! Unfortunately, our experience (again, with just the food quality, NOT the service) was disappointing.

Great food and great service. Waitress gives great recommendations
I’ve been searching for a consistently good Indian spot that has all the essentials without being overpriced or too fancy for years and this place definitely hit all the marks. The Lamb Saag and garlic naan was so good and perfectly spicy. The mango lassi and vegetable samosas were also exactly what I needed. This will for sure be my go to Indian food spot moving forward. Great job guys.

A new spot worth checking out! The menu here is labeled for gluten free and vegan, and there are a lot of options, including GF roti (chickpea flour) and fritter-style appetizers. Staff reports that they use dedicated frying pans and prep surfaces for the gluten free and vegan options.
I got a mix of small plates for lunch, with the gluten free roti and chutneys.
The palak chat (crispy spinach leaves with fresh mango, onion, yogurt) was delicious, perfectly crisp, and light.
The Aloo goat cheese tikki was also perfectly fried and went really well with the mango chutney. The missi roti started off soft and tender but got a little stiff and dry when cooled, so don't sit on it too long before eating. Still delicious though!
Accessibility note: There are a couple of outside tables and a mix of booths and high tops inside. Note that a small doorstep with a lip may make navigating a wheelchair inside tricky, but doable for the most part. The interior is dimly lit and may present a challenge to the sight-impaired. I did not check the bathrooms but signage indicated a single gender-neutral space.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegan options clearly marked. Manager states that these dishes have dedicated equipment for cooking and prep. There is a wide variety of marked options, including gluten free appetizers and sides, but no desserts.

Food quality was Awesome but Quantity wise compared to what we get in Canada and NJ it was far less. We ended up ordering 9 entree for 7 people :)
May be we were too hungry.
Parking: Parking in the neighborhood is a challenge. I had to go about 3 blocks away to find street parking

Wonderful restaurant with good food and great service. Portion sizes are smaller than your typical Indian restaurants but are totally worth the price based on the taste and quality. The entire staff and manager were very nice and kept checking on us frequently. We went during a weekday so it wasn’t so crowded but I would recommend making a reservation ahead of time if you are planning on visiting on a weekend. Overall a wonderful place and must try if you are in the DC area.

Perfect neighborhood Indian restaurant - this place gets better every time we go, and it was great to start. How? This is a place that takes care of its regulars. The manager remembers our experiences here better than I do, and takes care to find little ways to improve every time, from how we like things spiced to where we most like to sit.
As far as food: everything is great, and almost everything has a customizable level of spiciness. Several items are rare among Indian restaurants and are a must-try if you enjoy the ingredients:
- dishes with goat cheese (the Aloo goat cheese Tikka and the Goat cheese Malai dumpling);
- dishes with mushroom (the mushroom naan is easily one of the best ever, and the mushroom korma is both a less-heavy curry and an absolute delight); and
- anything really spicy: the paneer mirchi chilli naan, the bhootiya chilli naan, the chicken chetinaad, chicken 65, and vindaloo.
Amritsari fried fish is also an uncommon and delicious dish.

Do not eat or order food here. This is leftover food reheated. Service was pathetic as well. Asked for a gravy and they told me to call Uber. ???
