Temporarily closed, but didn’t update their Google profile, so we came all the way here for nothing. (11.3.2024 lunch)

Smashburger was delicious, but the bun was extra, guess i needed more meat to contrast to soak up the bread. The loaded fries was overwhelmed with the joia special.

It placed in my top three burgers in DC
Genuinely super delicious and you can taste the freshness of the ingredients!! Definitely will be coming back. Such a simple menu, but it’s working in their favor! The space is on the smaller side but they have an adorable outdoor seating. I also love how kid-friendly the place was , including allowing kids to draw to decorate the space! Staff were also super friendly and it just feel a like a great local spot, that I hope is here for as long as possible.

Joia Burger is absolutely worth the effort to find. After searching for the best burger in DC, I knew I had to give it a try, despite getting lost a few times along the way. Once there, I could tell why it’s ranked among the top 10 in the city. The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was exceptional. The staff was friendly and attentive, and my waiter even gave me a generous sample of their unique purple ice cream. I hadn’t expected it, and the portion was huge! This touch made the experience even more memorable.
The burger itself lived up to all the hype. Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, it was everything I’d been looking for in a classic burger. Paired with their creative sides, it hit the spot in a way few places do. Joia Burger goes beyond the usual, offering both a warm ambiance and a fresh take on a classic menu, with fun surprises along the way. If you’re in DC and want a burger experience that’s more than just a meal, make the trek here—your taste buds will thank you.

Double Cheeseburger was good …. I did like how they chopped up everything that normally gets layered on!
I think it could have been seasoned
French fries needed help …….. seasoning
But overall I would go back!!!!

Ordered double patty wagyu burger, plain fries and a can of root beer. $28.65. Very good burger. Ordered it as it comes minus tomato. The chopped onion was much better than other places that offer whole slices/strings. The sauce that comes on it is similar to a Big Mac special sauce; both mayo/ketchup based? Maybe not the same taste but you get the idea. Not usually my favorite but went well on this burger. The fries were very good, decent portion (I’d eaten some on the way home, pictured is what was left). I’d definitely go back, triple patty if hungry.

Very simple menu, but the burger and fries were served hot and had very rich flavors. The outdoor seating area was designed nicely, but is really the only place to sit peacefully since the restaurant blasts very loud music inside. I cannot say this restaurant is worth what you pay for due to the simplicity of its offerings, it is an adequate quick bite to eat in Mt Pleasant for about $20.

Look this place isn’t big, but it packs a punch. I ate a Joia burger for the first time and did not leave disappointed. I got the double Patty burger with fries and it’s quite literally one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. From the bun to the chopped veggie mix topping to the unbelievable patties. This is not just any old burger joint. This is a place you go out of your way to experience. And it’s no surprise as the owner is a seasoned restauranteur who knows not just how to make an amazing meal, but really how to deliver an incredible culinary experience for her guests. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Review of Joia Burger, Washington DC
Joia Burger in Washington DC truly lives up to its reputation as the best burger spot on the East Coast. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the mouthwatering menu.
The standout star is undoubtedly the classic Joia burger. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection, it’s a flavor explosion that leaves you craving more. Each bite showcases the quality of the ingredients, making it a burger lover’s paradise.
My wife opted for the veggie burger, and I have to say, it was a revelation. Packed with flavor and a satisfying texture, it’s one of the best meatless options I’ve ever tasted. It’s clear that they put just as much care into their veggie offerings as they do with their meat.
The special sauces and toppings available elevate the experience even further, allowing for a customized meal that feels truly unique. If you’re in DC and love burgers, Joia Burger is a must-visit. You won’t be disappointed!
