Amazing experience! Kind owners! Actual real Chinese food! General Tso's is real chicken, not frozen and fried. Highly recommend! Authentic Chinese food

Very disappointed with the food and service. There is a seafood allergy in our family and this was noted on VERY item we order to make sure nothing was contaminated. We were given a dish with seafood in it ( seafood was not mentioned as an ingredient). We had to stop eating and make emergency trip to the drug store for medicine. Scary and ruined our night.

Food was okay.
The sa ho phun beef has old rough chew to it, as opposed to a velvety texture. Ordered a pot of tea and they forgot about it till half way through the meal and reminded them about it. The Yangtzao fried rice isn't very flavorful, the texture was a little mushy or soft maybe not enough heat or msg or the rice wasn't dehydrated enough, I can't quite put my finger on it. The Singapore noodles lacked taste, and that was coming from my grandma. I didn't personally have the noodles myself so can't comment on it.
Want to eat on a plate and drink from a cup? Forget about it. You get a paper plate and a Dixie cup. All the food comes in take out plastic containers adding to the cheap atmosphere. Table is clean though.
They provided 4 plates to a table of 5, then in 5 minutes they realized this and made a recovery with an additional paper plate and gave us 6 cups instead of the 5 we needed. Don't know what to do with the extra cup.
One good thing is that they don't include the tip into the final bill and you have the freedom to tip whatever you want. But you also don't have a waiter or waitress to tip since you order at the cash register. They do bring food to your table.

Great place for excellent service and food. If you’re in downtown DC, this is a must-go place. With affordable prices and a large variety of food items, this location is a diamond in the rough for Chinese cuisine.

Restaurantji Recommends
I think this place needs higher stars. We're visiting from Florida and made our way to Chinatown and were looking for a decent place to eat. The food and service was excellent. Better than I expected. We ate the curry chicken which tasted like real curry. Sesame chicken was fresh and flavorful. The food came out quickly. I highly recommend this place.

This is not a restaurant. This is a takeout hovel. Food is pretty terrible by Chinese standards. So if you are Chinese you may not like it that much. My standards for Chinese food are pretty high since I mainly like Chinese food and it’s my favourite since I am Chinese myself. I’m pretty picky. I’ve had a lot of Asian cuisine dishes to compare Joy Luck House’s dishes to and this place is far from the best and close to the worst.
So if these Chinese owners are going reply again to say I am racist and take down my review I left yesterday they need to know I have the racism immunity card since I am the same race as them, Chinese. Racism only applies if you are a different race vs. a different race.
If the restaurant owner can’t take criticism on google reviews then you gotta figure out how to improve yourself. If people claim your restaurant is not up to snuff you can’t blame it on racism; you should blame it on your food, your lack of a dishwasher, and your lack of a waiter/waitress.

Food was really good and the price wasn’t bad at all! Place is small inside, but other than that the service and food are amazing!
