This place has seriously just downgraded with time. The price for an empanada is nearly 10$. Now, if the empanada’s were fresh and delicious I wouldn’t be complaining. But they sold me an old empanada you could taste how old it was. Probably was microwaved prior to being put out for sale. It was awful and soggy! I barely took two bites and had to throw it out. I’ve been able to find empanadas 2 for 5$ and they may be smaller but are delicious and tasty! Please don’t waste your time and money here. Just go elsewhere on the block get a pupusa from El Tamarindo or a slice of pizza from Andy’s!

This is not the one I grew u eating in DC. The saltena had a funny taste either was old or it protein was rubbery. it made me just upset as I always tell people try Julia's !! Reading the comment it seems it is going down hill.

Julia’s Empanadas is a gem! Their empanadas are packed with flavor, with a perfect balance between the savory fillings and the flaky, golden crust. I loved the variety—there’s something for everyone, whether you like classic or adventurous flavors. The staff is friendly, and the service is quick. Highly recommend stopping by for a satisfying meal!

This place is a classic!!! I've been coming here for a league night snack for 20 years! Still as popular and authentic as ever! They offer both savory and sweet empanadas that always hit the spot!

Never have anything available.

Found a bug in my empanada. Genuinely one of the grossest things I've seen. As I was eating I saw something that looked like bug legs. I thought probably it would be some kind of spice but decided to pull it out to be safe. I pulled it out and almost threw up. Would recommend sending the health inspector here

$8 an empanada is ridiculous. They’re not that big or that good

At least it was served warm, otherwise very underwhelming… kinda mad I spent $8 on

I went on a Sunday afternoon and they didn’t have any meat type empanadas available so I opted for an apple pie dessert empanada which was kinda bland and a bit dry.

Says closes at 9:30 on google, 9 on door, but the past 2 weeks has been closed before 8 when trying to visit. Never answers phone when trying to see if open. Food is good but not good enough for this
