Very disappointed with our Thanksgiving experience. Overpriced and underwhelming food. Will not return to this restaurant.

The staff was friendly but service was very slow. This was on a very slow day, so I cannot imagine what it would be like on a busy day. Menu was very limited in selections. Food was just OKAY definitely not worth the money. I would not recommend nor would I go back.

We have dining at Kingbird for years as we have opening night opera tickets. I was really looking forward to the Cioppino on the pre-fix dinner menu, but it was very disappointing: 3 mussels, two 1” cubes pieces of fish, a tough piece of cooked fennel, one large shrimp and two small pieces of toasted sourdough. I've had much better elsewhere. The shrimp cocktail consisted of 3 large, well prepared shrimp accompanied by a pleasant sauce (it used to be 4 or 5 shrimp previously). Everything is being down sized☹️! The shrimp were difficult to cut up on the bed of small ice cubes. The best parts of dinner were the cocktail and the lemon tart. The service was reasonably good and we made it to to Aida on time.

Always a pleasure to dine at Kingbird. I wish there a few more places like that in the area

I've been looking forward to trying Kingbkrd since it opened. Box checked. I don't need to return. The room was dark as all the blinds overlooking the river view were closed. Service was pleasant though hardly energetic. The bucatini was dry and the chicken just okay. For the price it should have been a good meal but it wasn't.

We have been to Kingbird several times. The food is good, although pricy. Our server was great. The restaurant is very convenient for pre-theatre dining before the Kennedy Center. The restaurant could use a refresh in terms of decor, especially the window blinds which don't work well.

The food was good, but the service was terrible. There was only 1 or 2 servers for the entire floor on a Friday night. They didn't have at least 3 wines in the wine list and recommended something that wasn't even close to what we had requested originally.

The ambience was enjoyable and didn't feel that I needed to speak very loud to be heard. I went with my husband prior to enjoying a show at the Kennedy Center and was a little disappointed that in the first 5-10 minutes of sitting down there wasn't anyone who came by to take our drink order. While other diners were in a similar situation as us, it felt like the restaurant was understaffed as our waiter wasn't ever seen standing around, but it was difficult to get his attention. For the amount of money we paid and the reputation of the restaurant, better service was expected but not delivered. Finally, the food was good. The entrees were delicious but I felt mine needed just a tad more salt to bring out the flavors of food (bucatini), my husband was happy with his selection (brioche stuffed chicken). Both desserts were excellent and our favorite part of the meal (lemon tart and raspberry vanilla cheesecake). The appetizer (their "caesar" salad) was ok, the sauce was a little strong with anchovy and the spinach was blanched leaving a less desirable texture. I would go back again, but don't think I would prior to a show at the Kennedy Center. Or give more time (2+ hours) prior to the curtain time so you can enjoy your meal and not feel rushed.

First time eating dinner at Kingbird. It was oddly empty for a Saturday night with only 3 other tables dining at our 8:00 reservation. Service was good, we had a birthday in the group and they were very attentive. For dinner, we had steaks, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was fine, but nothing special. Steaks were seasoned well. The locals I were dining with said that they remembered the menu being larger and were a little underwhelmed at this dinner compared to their other experiences here.

Great service but not great food and place. Doesn't feel lively, it feels outdated and empty. Prices are quite high compared to the quality of the food.

The lunch , Cobb salad was terrific with fine service. The cheesecake dessert arrived frozen so it was sent back. Always a joy to return here.

Typical hotel lobby restaurant , it was empty. Those that were there were not dressed up at all. The waiter was awesome. Just not what I expected for $300 for 2 people and only 2 drinks and no desserts
