I stopped in on a weekday lunch and it was easy to get a seat. The service was quick and friendly, the food was delicious, and the place was a nice chill atmosphere. I had the chicken pot pie and a glass of Magners and honestly can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

Kirwan’s on the Wharf – An Authentic 🍀 Irish 🍀 Experience in the Heart of DC
Nestled right on the marina at The Wharf, Kirwan’s offers one of the most charming waterfront dining experiences in Washington, DC. Its location is unbeatable: just steps from The Anthem concert hall and surrounded by the vibrant Wharf district, it’s the ideal stop for dinner or drinks after a show or a stroll along the pier.
The atmosphere is warm and lively, blending Irish tradition with the energy of DC’s modern waterfront. Live Irish music on weekends fills the space with authentic charm, while three distinct bars provide the perfect setting for anything from a casual pint to a festive night out.
The menu features a thoughtful mix of traditional Irish fare and contemporary dishes, all made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. My wife was delighted with her fresh salmon salad, while I truly enjoyed their signature Irish burger — both dishes exceeded our expectations. Pair your meal with a pint of Guinness or one of their craft beer selections for the full experience.
Service is excellent — attentive staff and even the manager personally checking in to ensure everything was perfect. Since opening in October 2017, Kirwan’s has carried forward the spirit of the Irish community that once thrived in this area, creating what they call “your Irish home away from home.”
Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Kirwan’s on the Wharf is more than a restaurant — it’s a destination that combines food, culture, and hospitality with one of the best views in the city. 🍀🍻

Great dining experience on the wharf! Came for dinner around 6pm and there was no wait to sit outside. Good service and food. Not pictured: oysters. The fish & chips were great, the batter was perfect. The lobster roll was good, but I wish the bread was bigger and toasted with butter. The seating was nice, with a great view of the river and boats.
Would come back again!

This is a really nice place. The fish and chips is quite good and the portions are large. Chicken pot pie was huge with a good portion of mashed potatoes. Server was attentive and pleasant. All around a good time. Sit alongside the water for the best view.

Came for some drinks but the menu was tempting so we had to try their meats since our bartender Herson talked highly of them. The food recommendations did not disappoint since the meat was tender and the sauce gave it an extra layer of perfection. The drinks he made were amazing and on point, he was very attentive and was able to answer any doubts we had. I recommend giving this place a try!!!

This place has such a great atmosphere, our first time here and we brought our little one since we were staying nearby. The food was extremely good, the service even better!
We had Emmanuel as our waiter, he was great with our 6 year old and when she got her burger with no cheese that she had asked for, we said nothing and he saw it and immediately went and fixed it.
I myself have an insane amount of food allergies so I had eaten before I came (as usual) but I saw they had salad and I asked if was possible to throw all the things I could have together and they even added some things not on the menu that they knew they had! It was fresh and crisp and absolutely delicious! I took the rest home!
We loved our experience and Emmanuel deserves all the hype in the world! He’s got the customer service every one hopes to find when they’re enjoying a night out with their family. It made our experience that much better!

See Brenda! Excellent server and beer guide.
This place is really amazing! We sat out on the heated porch. I had the Shepard's pie and my husband had the lamb burger. The food was high quality and tasty. The only reason why they lost a star was bc of the high prices and both meal were a little small considering the price. It's definitely go back though.

I stopped in here during "the holiday boat parade and party". It was soo cold outside yet soo warm in there! Literally lol. The atmosphere was live, buzzing, friendly, and inviting! I didn't eat anything even though the foods looked and sounded very interesting. What this review is based on, is the whiskey sour they makes here. It was made with Jameson and it did not miss. The bartender at the upstairs bar really makes it the best. You gotta come here and try this
