Attended a business lunch. Really wanted this to be a standout in terms of food quality, but can only give a mid review. Not bad, not great - if you are in the area and really want Japanese, it's a decent option. Very friendly staff and service.

As someone who grew up eating Japanese food, I was really impressed. The flavors were authentic, and the quality of the fish was excellent. The service was warm and professional, and the overall atmosphere felt inviting. Highly recommended if you’re looking for real Japanese dining.

Ok idk if our expectations r too high from the google rating but this is prob the worst Japanese place I've ever been to, i would give it a 0 if it was an option.
The service was not good to begin with. The server we had wouldn’t bring anything unless we explicitly asked.
The yakiniku was overly salty I could finish the whole rice. The miso soup was really confusing cuz it was fishy and the ginger flavor was really strong. Price was kinda expensive too I feel like this is more expensive than even some nyc japanese restaurants.
Also they charge 10% tariff fee, ik its prob not their fault but I would expect the food to be good if ur charging that much.

I want to bring something to your attention regarding the chicken katsu. Your menu describes it as a “chicken cutlet,” which universally refers to a thin, breaded piece of chicken breast. However, the dish was not prepared with chicken breast at all, which means it did not match the description on your menu.
Because the item was misrepresented, and because the food was not eaten, a refund was requested. Unfortunately, your manager handled the situation rudely and dismissively, and refused to offer a refund despite the clear discrepancy between what was advertised and what was served.
You should update the menu description to avoid misleading future customers.

Service was ok, food took a long time to arrive. I thought my roll was very small for the price and the overall taste was ok. My girlfriend got sick a few hours later too.

We were happy to randomly come across Ko for a warm Japanese dinner of Pork Katsu Don, Onigiri and hot sake during a recent cold spell in DC. We loved the food, welcoming service and plate presentation. We look forward to going back!

It’s my first time seeing tariff fee on receipt. I understand people are upset about this and I personally disagree with nonsensical tariffs. But this fee should be included in menu price so that consumers can have accurate and correct expectation for price. If the owner wants to indicate his/her frustration with tariff fees, feel free to adjust up the menu price and have a statement there saying the price adjustment is due to tariffs. Adding this at the end without being included in menu makes me feel BEING MISLEAD.

Cute place in DuPont w some niche Japanese dishes that were quite good. Pretty limited selection and lack of hot sake was a bit of a bummer, but what they did serve was quite delish and very filling.
