I decided to celebrate my birthday at La Casina and it was wonderful! We ordered a few appetizers and shared some Pinsas with the girls, and we had really good wine. Angela called me a few days before the birthday to arrange everything. The service was very welcoming and friendly. Despite the heavy rain on that day, my day ended on a really good note thanks to La Casina! I will surely be back and strongly recommend it. Grazie mille!

Wonderful people running a lovely unique restaurant. Forget generic “Italian” food, this place has truly authentic dishes made with all the care and love they deserve. Drinks were amazing, food was nothing short of incredible, and if we hadn’t gorged ourselves on food and appetizers I could tell you about the desserts. I’m sure they are lovely.

Great service, hostess was also our server and she was so friendly. It’s a small spot so it is a little crowded but loved the vibe. The food was fine, my expectations were high since it was recommended to us so I thought I would be obsessed with their apps and pizza but they were just okay. Nothing special. It did have a lot of variety of options on their menu so I might give it a second try to see if I like something else better.

Phenomenal service. Cute atmosphere. Food was alright. Based off of recs, thought we were in for a treat. Wouldn’t go as far as to say we were disappointed but definitely didn’t live up to the hype. Got 2 pizzas and an app. The app was great. The dough was fantastic but the flavor has a whole was a lil off.

The food was very tasty, and I appreciated the many vegetarian choices and specials. The claim that the composition of a Roman pizza means not feeling as full or heavy after a meal seemed absolutely true. Server Emma should be recognized for doing a fantastic job accommodating and serving our large group.

In looking for a real sit down restaurant to close a week in DC, we stumbled upon La Casina and am so glad we did. The website was great and showed pictures of many of the dishes, which were very helpful. We made a reservation and enjoyed an absolutely fabulous meal tonight. The main dishes are similar to wood fire Neapolitan Pizza, but so different- in an amazing way! The crust was more airy and crisp with toppings so fresh it seemed the tomatoes were picked that morning. I wish we would have found this place on Monday instead of Friday. This is a must stop in the Eastern Market area of DC!

After many years in US I am always skeptical about Italian restaurants in this country but La Casina has been a pleasant surprise. Their Pinsa Romana is best than many pinsas in Italy, ingredients are very good and even starters were tasty (never ate a such crispy fritto here). I would recommend this restaurant even to Italians who come in Washington DC. My only disappointment is that they don’t have the “scrocchiarella romana” in the menu 😉

Just finished celebrating my 80th birthday at this wonderful place. Angela arranged for appetizers of suppli (like arancini) and fried artichokes; 3 different kinds of Pinsas, wine and beer, and gelato with expresso for dessert--everyone loved the food!!! Pinsas were a new experience for my guests and they loved every selection. The dough was light and perfectly crusted, the toppings fresh and mouthwatering. The service could not have been better and the owners, Angela and Fabrizio were there to make sure all ran smoothly. Fabrizio is a master maker of the Pinsas and Angela is the architect of the ingredients. This was a truly special way to celebrate a milestone event! Go and enjoy--you will love the food, the owners, and the staff!!!

This is my favorite spot to have lunch in the neighborhood! The pinsa is incredible - I had the bufalina, and the toppings were fresh and delicious (that cheese!), but the texture of the crust is what really blew me away. It's so different from the usual crust, and I love the bit of chewiness that comes from the rice flour. I need to try their sandwiches just to have more of it! The tiramisu also has to be up there with the best in the DMV. The cacio e pepe suppli is so decadent, too, I almost couldn't finish it.

I had never had this style of pizza before going to La Casina, and it's probably my favorite now. I've tried it a few other spots now, but none of them come close to here. Everything I've had at La Casina was simple food done to perfection with high quality ingredients. If you haven't tried this place, you're missing out! I work near here, so I get the $15 lunch special pizzas, but I'm dying to come back for dinner and try the full menu sometime. I've only done carry-out for lunch, so I can't speak to how it is for sit-down service, but the space is small enough that I imagine you really want a reservation to dine in.

If you're missing Rome and must have a Roman pizza, make it a La Casina! This place is incredible! The pizza is simply the best I've ever had outside of Italy! The wine selection too -- refined but not pretentious! And please, do yourself a favor and save room for desert -- the tiramisu (I had strawberry) is exquisite! The owners working hard for their passion is just the cherry on the top! The wait staff -- super great, as well! This place is a gem and much needed in DC.

Loved this place! The pizza was very authentic to my experience in Rome. The staff was friendly and attentive. The owners came by to check on us and see how we were doing. If you are looking for a quick in and out, probably not the place for you. It was a relaxed, non rushed experience and I look forward to my next visit!

The absolute very best Pinseria in town. On par with pizza at Etto, which is the best pizza in DC. Family owned and operated by a very friendly couple from Italy. They put on a true masterclass with the horno de barro.
