Traditional Puerto Rican food. Good for a quick bite and gather with friends. order through your phone for food to be delivered to your table. Limited choices for cocktails and beer, but good value.

Unique little Puerto Rican gem in the Navy Yard neighborhood. This is my go to place for a quarterly lunch with friends. The food is fantastic with the mofongo and salads a particular favorite. Last time the music was just a touch too loud over background, and the drip coffee only was a bit of a bummer, but overall, this place is still great!

Overall good food. I had the cod canoa de platano which was tasty, but the plantain wasn't as sweet/ripe as I would have liked it, but that's a matter of preference. My wife had the el gordito sandwich and sangria. She said both were good, but she was told the bread was pan de agua and it wasn't. Just slightly disappointed but not a deal breaker. We would definitely return when in the DC area.

Amazingly delicious!! They’re super quick as well. Best mofongo I’ve had in a long while.

It is an imitation of Puerto Rican food, expensive by the way compared to those in Orlando and the portion is super small for the cost, it seems like you were eating in a 5 star restaurant and it is not, even so the taste of the food is good

The food and atmosphere were excellent! The only downside was the high price, but I am guessing the location creates high overhead for the owner. We would definitely eat there again.

Kid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly.

Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps made it accessible.

I love La Famosa downnnnnnnn! Definitely one of my favorite places in Navy Yard! The beef picadillo pastelillos are delicious and have great texture and flavor. My go to order is usually the Pollo Milanesa or the Bistec Encebollado, both flavorful and filling. Top it off with a Mousse De Parcha and you have the perfect meal!

I am Puerto Rican (from the island) and really loved the food here. The pernil and arroz con gandules were great and the tostones were fantastic! Pina colada and quesitos were authentic and they even have Malta India. I was very happy with the food. Plus, the flan was perfect! Mine is better ;) but still...
Also, the service was great! I had spoken with Jeff, the manager, a couple of weeks prior to my visit because I wanted to ensure the food was fairly authentic. When we arrived he stopped by the table to say hello and was absolutely lovely! Also, our server/bartender (I didn't catch her name but she is from Bulgaria) was attentive and friendly. A bit pricey, but so is everything else nowadays. All in all a great experience.
I recently moved to the DMV and the food game here is lackluster, but La Famosa did not disappoint. So glad I found this little bit of home nearby.

It’s been a few months since I’ve been here, but very disappointed that the coffee selection is now only drip coffee. One of the few restaurants in the area that makes me feel closer to home and there’s no cafecito? Espresso after a meal? Sad…Mofongo was very good, the garlic mojo is a must. Mayoketchup was super appreciated. Croquetas de bacalao are also my favorite. Please hire a competent barista.

What a gem right outside the Washington Navy Yard. First time picking up to go and the customer service was excellent. What about the food? Amazing!!!! The pernil was soft and tasty, the rice perfectly cooked and the tostones on point. Outstanding and beautiful atmosphere!
