Delicious cheeses and wines. Sandwiches and tomato soup too. The impatient young attendant. You need to work on your temperament. Pay attention to the value of the wines on display, which differ from the price shown for takeaway.
The Brie ($12) proved to be a regrettable disappointment. What should have been a golden, flaky puff with brie inside...arrived lifeless and tepid. The menu promised apple butter to counter the rich cheese, but it was mysteriously absent. They should have added a drizzle of honey or a spiced fruit compote.
So to summarize...bad & terrible. Even my kid didn't want to eat it.
The place is a bit small but the desserts are SUPERB! I am a huge chocolate lover but also love a good fruity treat. I’m not a big cheesecake person, but I will say that these desserts there changed my mind!
The service provided by the bartender Keith was great. As a solo lady dinner, I appreciate the balance between convo and being left alone. lol
Good convo but not enough to be a bother or intrusive. Very attentive and fun.
I would very much recommend the desserts and convo with the bartender.
I’m not a monster so I will always allot 5 stars to a place with such quality and thoughtful food. I got one of their grilled cheeses and it was made with clear thoughtfulness and intention. The tomato soup was spectacular, filled appropriately with herbs and spices with a sprinkle of oil (as it should have).
Friendly feedback because the food was superb… The woman who made the food was wonderful. The dude taking my order at the bar should work on his energy. I understand this is a French inspired spot but I wasn’t treated with that type of coldness anywhere in France.
Keep the food up. So tasty and will be back
Had an absolutely lovely time here. 4 people we got a couple bottles of wine and a cheese board. There was a ton of cheese and every single one was so fresh and flavorful. The service was quick and friendly.
Being from France, I've longed searched for decent charcuterie and cheeses in DC and I truly found a piece of home at La Jambe -- it is BY FAR the best shop/catering in DC!! I ordered a few boards for my husband's 40th birthday and it was a hit with everyone. Great customer service as well, highly recommend!!
friendly, yummy, and a perfect date night!
The bartender Sophia was amazing. She had elf everything I needed from questions about the menu, what’s the most popular thing. She also was readily available whenever I needed something. I would highly recommend and plan to go again. If she’s there I will be there, may have just found my new favorite spot.
This place is amazing! The service is great, the people are friendly. They are patient and the food is really good. The music is also very calming and it’s just a good place to go and journal and or doing computer work.
My bartender was rude and completely unfriendly. She was more concerned about texting friends and scrolling TikTok. I was completely invisible to her.

They can’t be more bothered. But give me the Tip on the tip is the best part.
After choosing the 2 charcuterie and 2 cheese menu, that only allows for chefs choice, they gave me hard 'gouda' pieces as apart of my order. When I questioned what type of cheese pieces they were I was told Gouda, and I could go look at it at the end of the display case if I wanted. As I stated it was so hard we can't chew it. /they scoffed at me and said I can go look at the Gouda in the case .
So excited to try the union market with all the variety of foods. After a sweet treat decided to have a charcuterie snack. The menu allows only for Seth's choice of two or three cheeses or two charcuterie. Imagine my surprise when they presented me with the plates and part of the cheeses was Lego pieces of Gouda it appears to be the rind and not the center and when I brought it to the young employee's attention was met with a scoff and to be told that I can go look at the Gouda would not recommend doing the chef's choice here if that's the only option choose something else there's plenty of other food stalls in this place
Ana the owner is great, everyone that works here needs to find something else to do. If you're that miserable do something about it and try some personal growth, don't take it out on the people you're supposed to serve and are your guests.
Can’t recommend La Jambe enough! Ana the owner is simply delightful and Keith the bartender is great. They have a huge and delicious range of wine and the cheese boards are some of the best in DC. Love that it’s a small spot and feels very welcoming. Definitely stop here for a drink and some bites next time you’re at Union Market.
