This neighborhood gem is still running strong! The service is great! The food exceeds expectations! They really did make us feel like family. Who knew this was still possible in 2024! PS, Best spot for people watching on the patio btw. Highly recommended!

I recently ordered a lomo salteado to go. The potatoes were raw. Not cooked all the way. Beef was tasty but the veggies weren’t full cooked either. I am Peruvian, so I know a good lomo.

We hadn't been to La Lomita in quite some time, as we typically frequent other Mexican restaurants throughout the DMV that I prefer more, so I figured that I would give it another chance. I am no stranger to the restaurant business, as my family has been in the biz, up in NY, for many decades. I have even waitressed for them (pro bono of course!) and realize the value of tipping your wait person. However, you need to earn that tip. That means, if a patron requests a box to take home their food in, yes, even free tortilla chips, that you are not supposed to give them an attitude and tell them to just put the loose chips to get crushed inside the to go bag. We asked him nicely, not once, but twice. The food was slightly better since the last visit, too bad the service spoiled that. Sorry, La Lomita, we will not be returning.

Here’s my review of the restaurant very displeased because I’ve been coming to this Mexican restaurant for years but I decided I needed to make this post which is very disturbing so please beware went made a purchase on a takeout order after eating my food halfway through in my refried beans as I was eating my refried beans I discovered something hard inside my mouth. Once I spit it out it was a medium size piece of a rock. I called the restaurant to inform them of the situation, which I was very disturbed the frustrating part. It was no discount well, now consideration of what I discovered in my food no redo your food or anything like that I told the gentleman that always answers the phone hey look, I found a rock in my food nothing so please beware of eating at this restaurant the last time I ordered the same meal take out it was late in my refried beans it was cigarette ashes was discovered in my refried beans.

It's a neighborhood restaurant, serving delicious hearty Tex-Mexican food., the restaurant has Mexican villa feeling, food is very good, full of flavor, staff are sweet and efficient. The plates are big, pretty shareable, great place for families. I highly recommend it

I used to eat here all the time until a few years ago after a snow storm. The chips did not taste right--maybe rodent urine. I projectile vomited in the bathroom. It was horrible. I have not been back. Just saying. Also, sometimes the steak in the steak nachos is completely uncooked and moos. Hit or miss. Margaritas are good, however.

I font remember the name of the dish but it was excellent. I'm not big on fish dishes with alot of vegetables but this shrimp and scallops dish either the broth was spicy and tasty.The shrimp appetizers disappeared before I got to take a pic. Service was excellent and friendly so we will definitely return.
