Amazed with this food.
The place is located at a busy area so parking is a challenge.
There’s a line to order and the place is pretty small so come with time and patience. Once ordered it comes out pretty quick.
I got the 512- which is a brisket taco and it is more expensive than the others in the menu. It was all it promised to be.
I also got the migas taco and it was pretty great as well.
Their green sauce was amazing so I would definitely ask for extras next time.
This was a great place to have breakfast, they have a little outside sitting area and some sitting inside I think since I saw some people that went up stairs after ordering.
This is definitely worth it and I will come back

Very nice food and service. Take out. Street parking. Long lines have ended. Please support this small business.

I found the food to be overhyped and overpriced and the service/atmosphere to be pretentious and corny. That said, the tortillas were excellent and my coffee was great, better than the food. I won't be back by myself, but I would come back with a friend who is interested in trying this place.

My partner and I have been coming here for a couple years, but I think this time might be our last…
Don't get me wrong... the tacos are good, but they're also extremely inconsistent. At our most recent visit (this morning, 9/27), we ordered five 956 tacos, and all tasted different. Two were missing ingredients, and nearly all of them were unevenly distributed. For $28 ($26+tax) for 6 tacos (we ordered an Choripapa in addition to the 956s), I’d expect better quality and more consistency…
Unfortunately, when we asked the man at the front register for additional sauce, he was rude and dismissive. Definitely not a place we’re itching to return to.

Disappointingly small.
Tried the 956, la choripapa and Tio Willie. They were fine, nothing special. Certainly not worth the 20 mins line outside.

Breakfast tacos were delicious. We got there at 10:45 on a Sunday and still had a decent wait; but those who got there at 11:15-11:30, the line was super long. Still delicious, just beware of its popularity!

My party arrived at 12, waited in line for 30 minutes, only to be told there weren’t any more tacos available. What?

What better way of spending a Saturday afternoon than getting access to the number one breakfast burrito spot in DC. I’ve heard about La Tejana through different networks on social media. We got there around 11:30am and waited about 45 minutes until we placed our order. The order came out relatively quick, which was nice. It’s a cool little spot and a neighborhood gem. They are open from 7:30 AM to 1 PM and then they open again at 5 PM. They have a very friendly staff and the quality of their food is top tier. My friend and I sat upstairs, which had plenty of seating. I ended up getting four tacos and it was the perfect amount of food for me. My favorite was the 512. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like they do pick up orders. The restaurant has been open for about two years now and every weekend the line is out the door as you can see in the images. Looking forward to getting a chance to go back it’s probably less busier early in the morning.

Cocktail bar closes at 9:30 on a Friday. So kind of a bust. Not sure how that’s even worth it for them.

We loved our drinks but the intense incense upstairs was unpleasant and we left sooner than we'd planned because of it.

La Tejana’s breakfast tacos are nothing short of spectacular. Each bite is packed with authentic flavors, and they truly capture the essence of the RGV. The frijolito taco, in particular, took me back to my childhood, reminding me of my grandmother’s cooking. The simplicity of the refried beans combined with the perfect tortilla makes for a comforting, nostalgic experience. La Tejana has mastered the balance of hearty and flavorful, creating a taco that feels both familiar and exciting. Whether you’re looking for a quick breakfast or a sentimental culinary experience, La Tejana delivers every time!

I loved this place in the past and went out of my way to get here early to avoid the long weekend line. That said, for some reason today the tacos tasted like the ingredients were reheated, particularly the potato— of which there were far more than normal. Not sure if this was a fluke but it really ruined the tacos for us.

I used to live in Texas and La Tejana is the first authentic Tex Mex I’ve ever had outside of Texas. 10/10 would recommend!
