Our first time at La Vie was a good experience! We celebrated my spouse's bday at the Penthouse area. We ordered the French toast and omelette. The food was good and the service was quick, however we were disappointed since we didn't get any special service given the bday event! I think overall, La Vie is a good spot with great views!
My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at La Vie. The service was great! The staff were kind, respectful, and a pleasure to be around. The food was good, but I expected better with that price tag. The surcharge and service fee were quite hefty as well.
We really enjoyed our time at La Vie. One of the best brunches in DC! We came to treat our family to celebrate a couple of milestones and everyone loved the food. Our waiter was good and even the employee who cleared our table to make sure we had clean eating utensils and plates. The food came out fast and had the best presentation. At the end of our reservation, we were able to get an adjustment to apply our military discount to our bill. We will definitely be back!
Very attentive staff, and delicious food that is beautifully presented. Great view over the river and Haines Point. Worth the extra expense. Only thing missing is a larger selection of after dinner drinks (i.e., a selection of ports).
an amazing experience. went for the brunch. The staff was very accommodating. we got the bottomless food and drinks menu and it was amazing. everything on the food menu was 10/10. from the pancakes and french toast, to the shrimp and grits and steak and eggs. everything was excellent. cant wait to come back to DC and have this again. will also be coming here for dinner some time again as well.
Excellent food, beautiful view, hot server. 10/10 Joke on the side, we received the best possible service from a kind and extremely professional server while celebrating a friends birthday. Food was amazing, view stunning, ambiance very chic and elegant!
My experience managing my reservation for this venue via OpenTable presented communication roadblocks resulting in poor service execution by onsite staff. I submitted detailed written communication in OpenTable prior to my reservation via your chat and contact form there was no direct response or alignment with onsite to execute a personalized dining experiences. As a result, I will limit responses regarding my guest experience on this platform and contact the Restaurant managers directly.
Brought my daughter for a girls night and everything was great and the staff was amazing! I'll be coming back with my hubby.
The food was tasty, and the employees were nice, however, the pace in which the food came out was slow, and it threw off the experience.
My 35th birthday dinner experience: What I really appreciate most about La Vie was the amount of grace and kindness they extended. We were close to an hour late due to traffic and was still able to be seated without all of the guest being present at that time. I also LOVE TOMMIE!! We had standard seating for dinner, but he allowed us to go to the penthouse and take photos on the rooftop!!! He is an amazing general manager!!! Very kind, very accommodating, and overall personable!! I will absolutely be back!!! This was awesome!

Wonderful place for a meal, prior to a concert. Able to accommodate food allergy needs. 10% recommend.
Incredible experience at Sunday brunch! It was my best friend's birthday and we had such a great experience!
I really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. Everyone was supper friendly. Loved the drinks (very unique and tasty) and the food was really good. My only complaint is I wish my lamp chops were bigger. I paid dinner price for what felt like appetizer size portions. Other than that, I loved it and would definitely come back.
Absolutely not worth the price of entry. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff was pleasant, but none of those aspects matter if the core reason to go to the restaurant is deficient: the food. The menu prices simply do NOT match what you get. Tiny portions with food that tastes mediocre. Appetizers cost what a main course should be ($18-$50>) and the main courses nowhere near match the quality and/or portion size you would expect for the price (>$32-$100). Desserts were astronomically priced. $34 for a slice of cake? No way. When it comes to taste, I honestly wasn't impressed. I was expecting the same flavor and presentation quality as Nara-Ya, and it was just not there for La Vie. My wife compared the taste to something you could buy from Trader Joe's. No shade to TJ's, but I'm not paying La Vie prices for something I could get for a fraction of the cost there. I know La Vie is trying to position itself as a "date night" or "special occasion" restaurant, but it misses the mark. The ambience is very unique, but that alone does not merit the exorbitant price of admission. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant and sticking with Nara-Ya if you're going to the wharf or somewhere else entirely for Mediterranean.
Super Dinner! Great wait staff. Stellar view! Easily reachable from underground parking. Loved the whole thing. We'll be back. Not cheap though - dinner for 4 might be $500.
