This was once a rooftop bar and open to the public, now it is an event-only space. Sigh. Walked all the way over here. Three stars for the memory of a good thing.
Incredible views. Hope they open the space for more cocktail hours.

From the moment I arrived at the Kimpton Banneler for our event at the stunning Ladybird venue, I knew we were in good hands. I had quite a few supplies to bring in, and the lobby staff—especially Dennis—was incredibly gracious and helpful. He immediately made me feel supported and welcomed, setting the tone for the rest of the day.
When we got up to the Ladybird venue, the staff was already hard at work setting up, and I was blown away by how professional, friendly, and dedicated they were. I was warmly introduced to the dream team: Meck, Helena, John, Brittany, Chef Santiago, Oscar, and Suslay (forgive me if I’ve misspelled anyone’s name!). Every single one of them was a 10/10 human being, completely committed to making our event exceptional.
They checked in with me on every detail—big and small—and were incredibly intentional about the setup and flow of the event. Their patience, creativity, and can-do attitude helped bring my vision to life in ways I couldn’t have imagined. A special shoutout to Chef Santiago, who created the most beautiful and delicious food displays—our guests are still talking about it!
Helena and Meck, our bartenders, brought not only skill but also such warmth and personality to the evening. Gorgeous inside and out, they helped keep the energy high and the drinks flowing with a smile. And a huge thank you to Brittany Duarte, who worked with me for weeks leading up to the event—her attention to detail and dedication ensured everything ran smoothly from beginning to end.
Finally, I want to recognize John Jiminez, the on-site manager. From the moment we met, he felt like family. His calm leadership and positive energy were the perfect anchor for the night.
To the entire Ladybird team: thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are truly incredible, and I can’t wait to host more events with you in the future!

Super underrated roof top bar in dc!
Everything is stunning 🤩
Always enjoyed the food and drinks and love the views!
I recently hosted a rooftop yoga event at Lady Bird THE Roof Top, conveniently located atop the Kimpton Banneker in DC. The experience was outstanding from start to finish! Brittany Duarte, the event rep I worked with, was incredible. She welcomed me, had excellent directional signs set up, and ensured the room was perfectly arranged with fruit-infused water, towels, and spare yoga mats. As the owner of Rock n Flow Yoga, I held a rooftop yoga class for City Girls Who Walk DC (CGWWDC). Brittany's meticulous attention to detail and clear communication made the process smooth and stress-free. Her full transparency and cooperation, which were highly valued, especially as I am a small business owner, made me feel respected. The venue was a hit with my clients, who were equally impressed with the space. Between my experience and my client's positive reaction, I booked the space again for the fall. If you're looking for a fantastic rooftop space in DC with top-notch service, I highly recommend Lady Bird at the Kimpton Banneker. Thank you, Brittany, for all your hard work in making our event memorable and a success!
Great hh specials, half off cocktails from 5-7!
Lady Bird is a wonderful rooftop bar with a distant view of our one-and-only pencil (ie, Wash Monument). With a glamorous decor and nice views, I was expecting the lounge to be packed; instead, it offered a comfortable space with plush seats to relax and enjoy a Friday night. We got a few shareables and delicious cocktails. The food was okay, but the drinks were amazing! Loved their spritz (Campari instead of Aperol), and my girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed the lychee martini. Only reason for the 4 star: long wait. The staff was chaotic from the start and we waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order. Nobody did, so we went up to the bar. I really look forward to coming again, and hopefully experiencing better service! Otherwise, Lady Bird is a hidden gem and well worth the visit.

Hidden gem! Vibe is top notch. Think giant palms and plush couches with outdoor comfy patio cushions. Adorable decor and amazing drinks!! I’m told the sunset views are amazing, but it’s a bit cloudy today. Will need to come back. Hannah made a great lychee martini and was so friendly!! Odd that this place is dead though. Seems like marketing isn’t happening bc no reason this place should be so dead.

Very cool lounge and rooftop with good food and an awesome view.
Parking: The hotel is right on 16th St so parking can be tricky. Depending on the time and day you might be able to find street parking. If not, the hotel has valet parking.
