This is one of our favorite places in DC. We love the 40 layer lasagna. We loved the fried cauliflower. All of the food was amazing. Don't skip dessert. We had the tiramis, it was amazing!

The service was impeccable, our waiter was attentive despite the restaurant being packed, and the sommelier stopped by our table and gave a perfect wine recommendation! If you plan to go, definitely make a reservation at least a few weeks out--it was quite loud even early in the evening.

We had the focaccia, carciofi, 40 layer lasagna, and branzino. The focaccia was good, but the carciofi was INCREDIBLE and definitely the best thing we had. Definitely recommend getting it! The lasagna was rich and delicious. The branzino was okay, the more burn-bitter than good-charred and the portions were on the large side.

We had a nice night but probably won't be back, it was quite expensive and we'd rather spend a little less at a quieter spot.

My office picked this place for lunch. After reading their webpage (so many rules) I thought it would be some snooty place, but I was wrong. The food was very good and the place had an easy graciousness from the moment we stepped in until we left. A wonderful experience.

The best dishes that we ordered at L’Ardente were outstanding: the octopus appetizer and the 40 layer lasagne. The others were very good: the artichoke app and the bucatini. Service was pleasant and responsive.

One star off for the unpleasant and deafening noise levels. The waiter misheard my entree order and conversation demanded raised voices. If you aren’t fond of high volume dining, try to visit during off hours.

First of all, I always recommend sitting at the Bar because service is so great thank you PAUL! The drinks were amazing, we had the classic espresso martini and the espresso Dulce (with tequila) YUM! Love the salted chocolate coconut foam on that one, it was sweet but not overpowering. Additionally, my Regina italiano was PERFECT. If you love Gin this is the drink for you, I also finished it off with a Glam Spritz and my partner enjoyed a Cosmo Moderno and finished it with a Whiskey Sour (SO GOOD the best he's tried since he is tired of establishments not using egg white for foam this place has an option for those who want it, and a substitute for preference) ... I can come here and probably drink the entire cocktail menu since they do such an amazing job. The food is where we fell off a bit. My partner loves his food kind of salty, where I don't at all. My hands typically get swollen if I take in too much. The 40 layer Lasagna seemed picture perfect, I had about 3 slices, super yummy, but I was hit with salty flavors possibly due to the short rib. My partner ate the entire plate for me since I started not feeling well, and he knew it was salty but he didn't want to send it back. We also had the Arancini balls. The only highlight with this was the Calabrian Chili Oil it was in. WOW we even dipped the pasta chips in that oil because it was sooooooo flavorful. The balls themselves were nothing out of the ordinary. It felt basic, but the oil made it better. We did the Flambe Tiramisu and though presentation was nice and ($20) price tag (which isn't bad for the presentation).... we did not feel like it was anything special. We prefer the classic lady fingers, I know they are doing their take on it, so we don't mind. Just not what we expected. I would come back because the other food looks so good to try and I will maybe speak up next time if I feel like I can't enjoy something due to it being Salty. I hope I get to try the Burrata, the Caeser Salad, and the Octopus next time for sure! Thank you so much Paul for all your help, you were amazing.

We had a lovely anniversary dinner at L’Ardente.

We started off with the oysters, caesar salad and gamberi, and they were all delicious. We also tried the grilled octopus and sun-dried tomatoes and olives complimented it so well.

For the main we did the linguine and of course the 40-layer lasagna.

Our server, Ezra, was amazing and so attentive throughout the night. The restaurant was definitely packed when we arrived for our 7:45pm reservation, but by around 8:30/9 the dining room started to clear out and the atmosphere felt much cozier.

We enjoyed a glass of Chianti, so we didn’t get to explore the cocktails this time, and we weren’t able to try the Duck Hunt.. but that just gives us another reason to come back. Absolutely enjoyed it and would definitely return to try more from the menu!

Everything was amazing! We ordered the Gamberi, 40 layer lasagna, the goat cheese ravioli, bread pudding, and the crostata. I am still dreaming about the crostata 😍 Service was awesome and the food was brought out quickly! We also had the porn star caviar martini, which is a must try! I will definitely be back.

If I could give 6 stars for service I would. Maria was great! She answered questions about the menu, took pics for us and even got us a little extra dessert for our birthday. The food was great too, need to come back for the Gemberi (grilled prawn appetizer) since they ran out.

I went here for a date and was honestly not impressed. I have heard a lot about L’Ardente since I moved to DC and it is definitely an impressive space but I don’t think it lived up to the hype.

We started with the Arancini and Caesar salad. Both were good but neither was unbelievable. I did like how the Caesar was covered in Parmesan.

For dinner we got both the Campanelle Nere and the 40 layer lasagna. Again, both were good but neither was worth the price. You can get really delicious, handmade pasta at Cucini Mornini right across the street. Much better value and taste in my opinion.

L’Ardente does have a cool bar and I absolutely loved the bathroom sign. It would be a fun place to come with a large group but I will spend my date night money elsewhere.

WONDERFUL! We went for our anniversary, had the 40-layer lasagna, and foccaccia bread. They celebrated with a small slice of chocolate cake. The service was superb and we wish we had more time to go back. That lasagna was worth every bite!

The birthday celebration was for my niece,Marian. Our group numbered 11 - including a newborn, four kids and six adults. Remember to make your reservations in advance, as L'Ardente is quite a popular restaurant experience.

Our server was simply fantastic (I have forgotten her name but will add it when I update this review)!

The variety of appetizers was plentiful and delicious. Our entrees were also amazing. Make sure to leave room for dessert - especially the spectacular presentation of the signature Tiramisu OMG!!

Everything was fabulous 👌 You must go and enjoy the L'Ardente dining experience. You will not regret it!

I went back to celebrate my wedding anniversary. I didn't enjoy my experience as much this time. We were asked twice if we were celebrating an event and we told them. Our server said he was going to have something special for us at the end of our meal. There was nothing! There is a 20% service fee added to every bill and my husband added more. I asked him WHY???

We ordered the hamachi crudo, burrata, funghi pizza and rigatoni alla carbonara. Hamachi crudo didn't taste the freshest. It looked so good in pics so it was disappointing. Burrata was the best dish out of the four. So refreshing and the bread was good. The pizza was so oily! My husband did not enjoy it. We picked up a slice and it was LIMP! There was so much oil drizzled on the pan. Not appetizing! The carbonara did not disappoint. I actually came back for this dish! We also ordered a bottle of prosecco.
