We ordered takeout from here and it was some of the best we've had in the city. Highly recommend the pan con tomate, octopus, cauliflower, and the risotto, but you can't really go wrong with anything!

Food and service are incredible! We got almost every tapa on the menu with a group of 10 and there was no dish that missed.Highlights were the seafood paella, tomato toast, cocktails, and cheesecake!

A friend & i were in the mood for Spanish food & Atxondo will now be a regular stop. We had manchego, which comes with toast, dried cherries & honey. Also sautéed cremini mushrooms with a poached egg on top, chicken croquetas (amazing), Spanish olives, Gambas al ajillo- which my friend raved about. Manchego burgers with freshly made chips. Finished with churros. My friend had a red wine while i opted for the hot toddy, which was perfect on a cold, rainy day. Everything was delicious & beautifully presented.Parking was plentiful, but i imagine this will change once the construction across the street is complete.Go soon before it's "discovered."

Atxondo is a fantastic spot for dinner with friends, especially if you're into tapas. The shrimp is a must-try, along with their selection of unique dishes perfect for sharing. I'll definitely be returning next time I'm in the area. Despite it being busy on my Friday night visit, they managed to get us a table quickly, which was greatly appreciated.

As far as Spanish tapas goes, this is a very middle of the road and unmemorable spot. Both the food and cocktails were pedestrian, and service while fine was equally unremarkable. We tried a charcuterie plate, kale salad, Spanish tortilla, grilled octopus, croquettes, meatballs, crispy potatoes and ribeye. Everything was sub par with the exception of the patatas bravas. Ribeye was particularly terrible, tough and poorly grilled.I would pass, much better options in DC for tapas.

The time spent here is a memory I shall cherish for years to come. The chef is also the owner, having worked hard to learn from fancy kitchens and combining with his own culture and humble beginnings. I am honored to have share a meal so special with loved ones, and I cannot wait to return. The bartender and server were also incredible. Thanks again!

Absolutely loved the Paella, 4 person portion size, waiting was like 40 mins but so is for any good paella. It was worth the wait! Street parking available.

Stopped in recently for a meal on the patio and it was good, not great. Some nice dishes, some ok. Service was good. Didn't do any drinks. For food, the highlights were: crispy potatoes (bravas), pan con tomate (flavor was amazing, bread was soggy), mushrooms garlic wine sauce with an egg (great flavor but very liquidy/hard to share). We also did the gambas (delicious sauce but the shrimp were overcooked), the octopus (nicely cooked but just not a favorite), manchego cheesebuger (just ok), and the tortilla (not runny inside, no onions, i'd call it a potato omelet). the coconut flan dessert was nice, a touch sweet but not overly so. Overall enjoyed, it's not difficult to get into so that's nice but it's a bit of a trek for me so not sure how frequently I'd go as there weren't many truly standout dishes
