My favorite restaurant in DC. A neighborhood gem. We have been enjoying this place for over 15 years. The owner is extremely gracious, as was his wife.

It's been around for many years and for a good reason. As chefs have come and gone the quality has gone up and down. Lately it's been up. My galette was delicious and the trio of meats to start was small but well done. A lovely Provence rosé n'y the glass.

Truly captures the essence of a French restaurant.

Wonderful neighborhood French place. Good steak frite, solid cocktail, nice and unrushed atmosphere. It may become our go-to French place (which oddly my family insists on having and our prior favorite closed).

We came for lunch.

Started our lunch with
- Rose en Provence - recommend
- Kir - recommend
- Escargot - recommend
- bread

My hightlight is the free bread, it's warm and soft, and with perfect crust. It goes amazinglt with Escargot.

For entree we ordered
- Bouillabaisse - recommend. this is a seafood stew it goes perfect with the bread
- Beof Bourguignion - recommend, this comes on top of noodles. The flavoring is amazing and the auroma of wine and beef stays in your mouth. My only watch out is, the beef probably comes from varies cuts. Some are not as tender and melt-in-mouth than the others. I had a few cubes that stuck in my teeth.

Dessert, we went for Suzette - it's crepe in tangy sauce and alcohol. The presentation is great, because it comes in flames.

Parking: Parking off the street can be tricky. It's free on the weekend, but during the weekdays, resident permit may be required in some areas.

The crêpe was decent albeit no greens. The pain bagnat SMALL-a mini tuna sandwich was dry. Desert crêpe aweful & runny-How can you mess up a crêpe? Its the cheapest easiest desert. I had a thimble of cidre...Service was barely adequate, but the $100.00 lunch bill was a joke...on me! Miss this place. Not authentic and they take the clientele for idiots.

Im surprised to find the seafood featured sour tasted soft and kept its flavor. The beef tenderloin were great, mixed well with vegetables. Beautiful decoration.
