It’s a nice restaurant. We were seated promptly thanks to making a reservation and the staff were friendly and attentive.
The food was okay but a little disappointing overall after seeing such great reviews. I got the buffalo mozzarella and side of broccolini as an appetizer.
The broccolini had a nice smoky flavor but was extremely tough. Only the florets were cooked enough to eat, which left a plateful of stems.
The buffalo mozzarella appetizer was good and very filling.

FANTASTIC sushi! It was SO good that we forgot how much we enjoyed French cuisine and we ordered ALL sushi and sashimi. Abs high quality and delicious. Would love to go back tomorrow. LOVELY ambience and great service. We also had very good desserts: crème brûlée & spectacular gluten free flourless choc cake

Was excited to try this place bc of the interesting menu combination. Started w/cocktails that were ok but too sweet to really be interesting. The sushi was nice, the Kobe beef roll standout. For some reason they have beef tartare listed on the menu as tarte de boeuf, which is absolutely a different dish, and also wasn’t recognizable as either. We were unimpressed by the mains. Service was fine. Not worth it for the price

My husband and I were overwhelmed with the noise level. We ordered drinks, paid and left. We eat out several times a week and daily even on a trip (as we were in DC) but this noise was terrible. Nothing in the design was noise abating. While 25 and younger might not care, we could not carry on a conversation at all. My degree was in deaf education and I can tell you the decibel level was dangerously high. Our drinks were good; no idea about the food. What a shame
My first time at Le DeSales.ı was staying at Mayflower and it was my last day decided to go to a nearby restaurant which I found through OpenTable. It was so good and tasty.
We went for a light lunch. My wife got the pokey bowl which she raved about. Absolutely loved it. I had a couple of sushi rolls which were very good. Great staff and ambience. I recommend it.
We loved food, but when we asked for extra bread, 4 times, I might add, and were told one moment, we never got it. Maybe it was shortage, but at least be honest and tell us.

The food and service was amazing. I ate there multiple times while in the city for a week. I highly recommend their salmon. Inside seating was a little loud. We ate in their outside seating which was was very nice.
The food was delicious however the intimate space was too loud for us to hear each other. We gave up our table for a far corner of the bar. It was better but not as comfortable. I would go back though.
First time there looked like it had a lot of potential. Fun menu and bar was packed. Dining area half empty. Ordered sushi which was good, wanted to try other things but it took forever to get the food after a 45 minute wait half of the ordered items still didn't come so we cancelled the rest and left. May try again but it just isn't run right. For half the dining area being full they weren't able to handle it.

This is a charming spot off Connecticut Avenue. The drinks are amazing, and the menu was creative and delicious.
Excessively loud. Fortunately, we sat outside and it was pleasant. Food was above average in Washington
Its really busy, but it's restaurant week. Kind of hard to hear, but that could be expected. Otherwise the French cuisine was very good! The whole fish and French onion soup hit the spot.
Sushi - the regular rolls like tuna were simple and satisfactory... but the artesian rolls were delicious! Try their creative items we enjoyed them.

We waited almost 10 minutes to have someone came asking what we wanted, they were packed because the restaurant week i guess. But soon after someone took our order. Everything went well. The decorations and vibe were very French, specially the outdoor sits. Menu was not super crowded, half classic French item and half sushi. I think food wasn’t expensive or impressive but all very decent and i felt their chef or cook has very good taste about the spices and made the dishes taste well-balanced. Definitely will back for their happy hours! It’s super loud and noisy, kinda good for dating.

Ate during restaurant week, which meant that the prix fixe menu was limited. The chicken liver pate was tasty, but a bit bland. The chicken was too dry, although the sauce was delicious. The apple pie was ok. The cocktail that came along with the deal was delicious. But the best was the waitress, who was charming, knowledgeable about the food, and helpful.
