The food was perfect. Steak frites, french onion soup, warm shrimp salad. Friendly and fast service. Love paying at the table!

Le Diplomate is an incredible spot for date night. It’s right on 14th Street and perfectly captures that classic European brasserie atmosphere. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it for a special evening.
I highly recommend the steak frites, escargot, and duck. The duck, in particular, has a subtle orangey note that’s unlike anything I’ve ever tasted — rich, balanced, and memorable. We’ve also tried the artichokes before, which weren’t really my favorite, but everything else has been consistently excellent.
The indoor dining room is elegant, but we’ve only ever sat outdoors, where the ambiance is just as lovely.
We love this place and will definitely be back!

One of the must go restaurants in DC if you like French food. The atmosphere is great and the restaurant is busy most of the time. The food is really good as well.

Food was amazing, price matches the atmosphere and service. If you go during peak hours be prepared for to wait, but still have great service.

The service and the wine list is extraordinary
Awful business, with horrid ethics.
I thought I loved Starr's Pastis the most, but Le Diplomate is another level of rustic French dining. We had the lobster risotto, and I think it was the nightly special, along with the farmer's cheeses that had honeycomb and hazelnut and ended with the vanilla bean creme brulee and millefeuille

One of the best places in town for breakfast, brunch or dinner. All are good. Prompt service, good food and drinks. My only complaint is about the chairs, not very comfortable to sit on them during a long dinner.

The food was good but it wasn’t Michelin quality or anything. Because this place is so popular and famous, the service quality suffered a little. The atmosphere is louder than ideal for a date or an in-depth conversation, but if you’re just going for a drink it’s perfect.

Service and food were “meh” at best. I’ve been eyeing this place for months because it was all over social media and it truly was such a disappointment. It is so overhyped. Will not be coming back

Have been before and the food is fantastic, but had a very frustrating experience trying to coordinate a dinner for a larger group. The restaurant outsources to a 3rd party and requires a price fixe. When inquiring with the restaurant about possible other options, they were fully unhelpful.

No notes. Great vibe in the heated outdoor space. House wine was delicious and so was the burger. Recommend profiteroles for dessert
