It was the restaurant in Cedar hotel so it was our go to for our short weekend visiting DC over the holiday. Better than typical restaurant there fare!

Decent food. It wasn't amazing food but I was pleased overall. Wine prices weren't too bad either.
The food was excellent, our server was friendly and helpful and the restaurant is very pretty. Had a great experience and would definitely recommend it!
We had a really fantastic dinner at Le Sel. We ate early after a long travel day. Gem salad was not only delicious but beautifully presented. The hubs loved his onion soup and steak tartare. I had the trout - skin was crispy, with a moist center. End sharing a cream brûlée. Service was attentive and knowledgeable about menu. Nothing to hate here - would definitely do it again.
Can't figure out why good reviews were left. Bad food, so so service. No ambiance. But prices reflect a high end restaurant. Save your money.
Le Sel French Bistro is an absolute gem! Helen, our waitress, provided outstanding service—polite, warm, and attentive. The manager/owner was equally welcoming, making us feel right at home. The food was a true flavor explosion: from the perfectly made ham and cheese omelet with a refreshing pineapple kale smoothie at breakfast, to the most tender, juicy beef tenderloin at dinner that melted in my mouth. The romantic décor and cozy ambiance tied everything together beautifully. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed every detail—highly recommend!

Booked a reservation for bar seating. Upon arrival, several staff members were standing around, yet it still took 10 minutes to seat us—even though the restaurant had fewer than 15 people inside. When the hostess finally brought us to our table, we were told there was no bar seating available. Instead, we were placed in a booth, where we waited another 5 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. At that point, we decided to leave.
I can’t comment on the food since we never got that far, but if the service we experienced is any indication, it doesn’t inspire confidence. Not impressed.

The food was good but the service needs to be improved. We had many problems with the bill that eventually got mostly resolved after three attempts and manager's intervention. Shocked that they were not able to split the bill for the wine between two parties claiming an outdated system. It is the third and last time we will dine there as we had issues with the service on all occasions.
The seafood pasta had a rich, savory sauce and perfectly cooked noodles.

The food was outstanding and Warren was an awesome server! He was incredibly courteous, responsive to our needs, and creative when presented with some unanticipated situations. We were celebrating birthdays and when they would not let us serve the cake we brought, management was kind enough to provide some free desserts. Overall, a great experience!

Food was appalling, especially at that price point and given the reviews. We ordered three steak au poivres and each was over cooked by at least 1.5 temperature levels, my steak was 40% fat. The little gems salad was actually made of romaine that had turned brown in parts and utilized the tougher cores. The dressing was unremarkable and tasteless. The mussels were similarly tasteless despite large slivers of garlic. The baked brie was deep fried. I cannot in good conscience recommend Le Sel.

Skip it! We had steak tartare with bone marrow, onion soup, and steak and fries. It was all mediocre. The tartare was a new experience and wasn’t our preference but it seemed to be of good quality. The soup wasn’t hot and the cheese just laid on top and not melty. The servers didn’t know about the items on the menu, didn’t bring a spoon for the soup but were prompt and helpful. The atmosphere was bland. The steak and fries were the worst I’ve had. Bland, grisly and tough.
