Tuna tartare needed acid and salt. The catch of the day and chicken entrees were brilliant. The service was saved by the manager checking in and making a wonderful dessert recommendation, which was very fun to eat.

Great restaurant. Typically I’m not a fan of hotel restaurants but this didn’t feel like that. The service and quality of food were outstanding. Our server Ricardo really kept checking on us and had an eye for detail. He gave great recommendations for food and drinks.

Nice spot for breakfast with windows that run the length of the restaurant giving an eye line view of trees and a beautiful, old church across the street. So nice for light and people watching! Delicious food and good coffee. Our server Ricardo had great suggestions and was attentive without being interruptive. I hope we can be served by him every day we're here!

We spent a very pleasant time with family this evening at the Le Sel restaurant.Ricardo was full of attention throughout the meal, both for the children and for us! We will all keep very good memories of our stay in this very nice place. Chef Silva offers very tasty traditional French cuisine by adding his “grain of salt”, his own touch! A real pleasure to rediscover our French dishes, in fact the foie gras is really excellent. Congratulations to the whole team

Small but mighty, Le Sel is a powerhouse of cuisine and warm service inside a great little hotel in DC. I’ve had many meals here, breakfast, dinner and a quick bite. Each has been a wonderful experience. Chef Walter honor to French classics in style and flavors with his own flair are off the charts. Friendly and sincere service from Juan and Ricardo in the evening to Christi in the morning. Even the managers Abas and Kia are always welcoming and personable. Can’t wait to return again and again.Vegetarian options: Fresh and seasonal options

This is a hidden gem of a DC restaurant! Some of the best food I’ve had anywhere, traditional French with incredible flavors and flair. Chef Walter makes every dish spectacular, from tuna tatar to the award winning cassoulet (best I’ve ever had). Our server, Juan Escanillo, was warm, welcoming, and so knowledgeable. Wines by the glass are excellent too. Great evening all around.

Le Sel is a neighborhood gem. With uniformly excellent menu offerings and service, it comes as no surprise that guests rank this the #1 Kimpton hotel restaurant worldwide. The menu features French classics like coq au vin, and a standout cassoulet that recently won New York’s “Cassoulet War.”As an extended stay guest, I’ve tried all of the breakfast options. The french omelette (savory), served with a leafy green salad, and pain perdu (sweet) are my two favorites. The granola is a good lighter option, with a generous portion of granola, yogurt, and fresh fruit. And the croque monsieur hits the spot if you need savory comfort food hit that will carry you through a busy day.For weekend brunch, the trout in the trout salad is perfectly executed.Aaron, Nia, and Kia set the standard with their warmth, hospitality, and consistently excellent service. It really is a pleasure to start the day with them.
