It's a fantastic restaurant. Service is superb and food is off the charts delicious, and noise level is very low. I highly recommend it.
Lebanese Taverna in DC continues to be one of my favorite spots for consistently great food and exceptional service. The flavors are authentic, fresh, and beautifully presented from the creamy hummus and warm pita to the perfectly seasoned kebabs and mezze. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared and meant to be shared. What truly elevated this visit, though, was our waiter, Mustapha. He was outstanding. From the moment we sat down, he was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. He knew the menu inside and out, offered excellent recommendations, and took the time to make sure everyone at the table felt comfortable and well taken care of. His timing was perfect always present when needed, never intrusive. Mustapha's professionalism and kindness made the entire experience feel special rather than routine. It's clear he takes pride in his work, and that level of care makes a huge difference. Because of him, this wasn't just a good meal; it was a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend Lebanese Taverna, and if you're lucky enough to be served by Mustapha, you're in great hands.
We had a fantastic experience! Great food! Hummus and other dishes from the mezza portion of the menu were tasty. The best Mediterranean food we have ever had. Comfortable seating and interior decor thoughtfully designed.
This restaurant was recommended to me about 25 years ago but I've never been able to work it into one of many trips to DC. Finally was able to get there this weekend! The food was worth the wait, for sure. Everything was excellent. I had the lamb shank, which literally fell off the bone and was juicy and tender. The halloumi appetizer and baklava dessert were also delicious. My husband said his shwarma was the best he had ever had. I tried a Lebanese origin wine and it was very good. The service was efficient but not warm and welcoming. We were there at 430 on a Sunday afternoon so it wasn't crowded at all. I don't need a server's life history but some bit of connection is nice and we definitely didn't get that. That being said, the food is worth a return visit, hopefully soon!
The charge slip was not the amount on the actual bill. I had to call the waitress on that. It was shady . She bad to redo the charge slips. then she immediately went off to correct the charge slip. I will not go back there again.
Fabulous food in a sophisticated yet cozy atmosphere. Our server (sorry I don't recall his name, it started with M) was attentive yet unobtrusive. We can't wait to go back when next in town. So many more options than we had room to eat, generous portions of known foods with little twists and perfectly cooked. (Side note to Open Table, please fix your photo uploading, I lost my first review because you tried to use two unrelated photos of mine along with what I selected, and I couldn't remove them.)
I cannot recommend Lebanese Taverna highly enough. We recently held a company wide dinner for 50 at the Joyce street location. Youssef and his team were EXCELLENT. The service was impeccable and the food just as good. They were incredibly kind, adaptable to a last minute change we had, and professional. We will
Absolutely be returning for future events and truly cannot express how wonderful Youssef and team were!
I absolutely loved this place! The food is authentic Lebanese, the restaurant is clean, the service is great, and Mustafa was so kind and sweet. Will definitely be back.

The host had a bad attitude and didn't greet us, we had to speak first to let her know of our reservation. It was my moms birthday so I didn't pay any mind to it. She sat us and after a few minutes our server asked us what we'd like to drink. We got those and an appetizer. He didn't come back to ask what we would like to eat. We were looking around and waiting and we finished gthe appetizers and all our drinks until we flagged down someone else who could take our order. Our server after giving us our food again.... Disappeared. Poof. He never knew it was my mom's birthday until we asked for dessert. The service was definitely bad here. The food was ok, nothing that stood out either. This is my mom's favorite restaurant chain and was my first time dining here. We all left disappointed

It's a gem of a local chain. The warak enab, or stuffed grape leaves, are a must-try. My wife and I still remember their taste. We're actually surprised that alcoholic beverages are not so expensive. The service and atmosphere are great. Our waiter was very kind. Everything, including the bathrooms, is very clean. I highly recommend it.

Love this place! Ate here for the first time six years ago, and the quality is still top notch. Roasted olives and peppers were outstanding! Branzino and shrimp dinner was excellent as well. Will be back the next time we visit DC

The food here at Tyson's was fabulous. My husband got the chicken curry and licked the bowl clean. I got the Taverna Sampler - so, so good. With the sampler you get to try about ten small bites off their menu. The thing that was amazing was their puffy pita bread. It was amazingly puffy and light, I did not need a fork. Just scooped up all my food with it. We'll be back .
