My husband and I stopped here to have lunch. We had the shrimp creole and the chicken with rice. It hit the spot! We top that with the brownie cheesecake. Everything was delicious. The only thing we didn’t like was the price. Lol Service was excellent.

I just got the worst caramel machiato. There’s no coffee taste in it at all and even asked if cofee was in it or not to the worker and she said I didn’t make it, the machine made it.The picture is added.
We ordered Starbucks iced caramel macchiato ($6.75) and we could not find any coffee flavor and some ingredients were missing.

The food was surprisingly good and exceeded expectations considering it being a tourist attraction cafe. Prices are steep, but it's shocking that the $7 hotdog was well worth the price regarding taste and toppings. The rest of the menu seems "ok".

Is this fine dining? No. But can you get yourself an entire bottle of wine for $22 while enjoying the American History Museum (retail of this Cab is $15)? Yep! You aren’t going to find a more affordable wine spot along the National mall. The cafe has some fun art and nice views of the EPA federal building (love me some intimidating classical architecture). If you want a nice meal walk two blocks north to The Hamilton, Old Ebbitt, or Elephant and Castle, to name a few of the many options. But if you need a snack and a tannin fix with friendly service and some jazz tunes, then this should work!
Kid-friendliness: Children will thrive here. So many bright colors. The window with daylight will get them that vitamin D fix before you drag them back down into the shadows of the Smithsonian’s cavernous labyrinth of eternal exhibits.
Wheelchair accessibility: Very much so.

Paid US$14 for a dry bread roll that had been around for days, no service, no atmosphere. Avoid it.

It was hot outside and air quality was bad, so I was happy to have lunch inside the museum. The Crisp Shrimp Po Boy ($14) was good, the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding ($6.70) was very good, the Fountain Drink ($4.60) was pricey, but I assumed I could go for refills. $27.83 was a lot to spend for lunch, but the food was good and portions were generous.

We went around 3:00pm, the café + sweets portion was closed, which makes no sense at that hour... Service wasn't very friendly. The cafe was VERY noisy.

Very expensive for what you get, if you want an actual entree. If you want a fun snack or two, like different kinds of cheesecake, it's reasonable. Pleasant staff and there is a painting by Leroy Neiman ("Big Band") that was donated by the namesake's foundation, which adds a bit more visual interest to a cafeteria like space.
(My real name is Fynn) Got a "simply cheese" off the menu for a hell of a price, and received molding grapes along with heavily mediocre cheese.
Grapes in the cheese & crackers were moldy. Turkey, Ham, Bacon, Cheddar and Honey Mustard sandwich had no discernable honey mustard. The cheese was hard, and it was overly refrigerated. I was afraid to eat it and just ate the turkey
