Almost all items are vegan, and it's quite tasty! Also nice to have a fast casual spot
Enjoyed a nice late lunch on a chilly April day in DC. At 3pm on a Saturday, the place was busy but there were a few open tables. The ramen with tofu and peanut noodles both hit the spot, and we'd happily order these again in the future. The date tahini smoothie was excellent, though a bit pricey. Order at the counter and they bring drinks and food to you. All of the employees we interacted with were nice. Look forward to coming again. Updated from previous review on 2025-04-12
We had the cauliflower soup, pita handheld, and the ramen. All were delicious! Amazing menu.
So happy Life Alive is in DC now! Tons of amazing options and a lot of things can be made vegan if they aren’t already!
I used to love Life Alive in Boston so I was very excited to try it out in DC. I appreciate the healthier food options and I’m still planning on coming back to try more dishes. The most disappointing was that we ordered the Udon and Ramen dishes, specifically asking for “extra hot” temperatures. When then arrived, the soil and sea ramen was so cold that it tasted like someone forgot to heat up the noodles or the broth midway. When I brought this up to the food runner, he said the chef told him to relay it’ll be extra 20 minutes just to get it hotter. He came back with the same bowl we handed over maybe 10 min later, and said that was the hottest they could make it. It was lukewarm at best, and had they communicated it wasn’t possible to make the dish hot, I wouldn’t have ordered it.
The mushroom shawarma warm bowl was the best of the three dishes. I added the tofu for added protein, and it paired well.
The coffee drinks were very yummy and actually served at appropriate temperatures. Unfortunate that we can’t adjust the sweetness levels, because that leaves no option for those who want to watch their sugar intake.

I’ve been to Life Alive’s Cambridge location and the DC opening did not disappoint! The food was incredibly tasty + ambiance was on point. The prices aren’t bad for DC either! Can’t wait to go again.

Food is fresh, healthy, and really delicious. I normally don't eat vegetarian or vegan options, but I'm glad I did at the recommendation of my coworkers. We got a variety of foods from the green smoothie bowl to crusted avocado salads, autumn falafel, spicy peanut noodles, and green juice. HIGHLY recommend eating here, and the service is fantastic. Big shout out to Lyla for being incredibly accommodating and making our 1st experience wonderful. We'll be back!

Had a really delicious Chili Garlic Noodle Bowl to go. The garlic gochujang sauce was amazing with the oyster mushrooms! Definitely need to come back to try some of the other items on the menu

I feel absolutely devastated and sick to my stomach over what I’ve experienced. As a person of color, I should never have to feel unwelcome in any environment yet the upper staff—especially management—made it painfully clear that I didn’t belong. Everyone else was kind, but the way I was treated by those in power felt isolating, demeaning, and unjust. It’s heartbreaking that in 2025, racism is still so deeply ingrained in places that should be safe and inclusive. Why is this still happening? Why do people think it’s ok to treat a human they don’t know less than

Breakfast work meeting. Coffee was very good. I am quite particular about my coffee and this was Australian quality latte. Avocado toast was also good.
Only comment would be to add some other espresso drink options such as flat white or cortado to the menu.

★★★★★ Life’s Alive – A Must-Visit for Healthy & Delicious Food!
Life’s Alive is a fantastic new addition to the dining scene! This 100% organic restaurant offers an incredible selection of fresh, clean, and high-quality ingredients. The interiors are bright, colorful, and inviting, with comfortable seating that makes for a pleasant dining experience.
We ordered a salad and a pita wrap, while my wife enjoyed the ramen bowl. Everything was bursting with flavor and freshness! Their selection of fresh-brewed coffee and juices is also impressive. If you care about what you put into your body and appreciate great-tasting, nutritious food, this is the place for you.
Keep in mind, it’s a casual dining spot—not fine dining—but the quality of food and competitive prices make it a hidden gem. Highly recommend giving Life’s Alive a try! Will definitely be back soon.

Love the food. So far, I have tried 4 things and I liked them all. My favorite were the Tofu Teriyaki and Nori rolls. My least favorite was the Acai PB and J, something didn't go and the bananas weren't sweet. Service is good, they are working out some kinks for to go/pick up. Once they figure that out, it should be smooth sailing. The place is also sooo adorable.. Definitely planning an early lunch meeting one day.
