Fabulous vegetarian selections. Great wine list. Server Dennys and the entire staff were very attentive. The oil and vinegar served with the bread was very tasty. The balsamic vinegar was the best we had ever tasted. This is a great place in Woodley Park area not too far from the National Zoo. It's a pleasant atmosphere to wind down after spending the day at the zoo. We enjoyed everything. Thank you.
They were very accommodating of our large party for dinner even with a last-minute change. The Italian food was delicious and enjoyed by all. The only downside was that the keg was not working so a couple of beer drinkers could not get a draft.
Great meal and service. We had a group of 19 that they took great care of. Food was delicious! Homemade pasta was wonderful. Service was perfect. Thank you! As an added extra one of the ladies left her phone at the restaurant and did not realize it until we returned to our hotel and they had already closed. She returned the next morning and picked it up. When the owner found out she walked a mile to the restaurant he insisted that he drive her back to our hotel. Thanks again for taking good care of the gang from Alabama!
Lillie's is an amazing gem of a restaurant! The food was delicious, the service was spectacular & the beverages were tasty. Parking is tricky if you arrive before 6:30pm as you can NOT park on Connecticut Ave. before 6:30 M-F. They should list suggested parking options for early diners.
We really enjoyed out dinner at Lillies. The service was gracious and professional. We had the garlic bread to start and then the Schnitzel, which was lightly breaded chicken, with the roasted potatoes and a wonderful green salad of arugula and artichoke with a vinaigrette dressing. It was delicious. We look forward to returning.
Stopped by after visiting the zoo. Large place, good menu variety. Plenty of light food options to keep you moving as you explore the city. Staff were very polite and helpful.
Our experience as out of towners was awesome! Food was delicious -service was wonderful! I will definitely go back anytime I'm in DC !
Lillies is my go-to dining spot. Amazing food and service. Short walk from the zoo or metro station.
Brunch was great!
Nice place, nice food

I rarely write bad reviews. But, this one annoyed me. I read a few reviews and it is clear that this place gets a lot of business from the Zoo traffic. That was us. My wife and I were there with our Granddaughter on Sunday during Memorial Day Weekend. The zoo was packed. So, we had to park about a quarter mile away. As we walked up the hill to the zoo, we passed Lillies and it looked like a nice place for dinner. A little while longer and there was a guy handing out fliers for Lillies. We did not take one because we were not sure what the day would bring with a 1st Grader in tow. After the zoo, we saw the same guy handing out the fliers. This time we took one. It had a 10% off coupon. We thought, well, that is nice. However, when we got to the restaurant, we waited for several minutes before a young lady came out. She said they were full. I looked around and there were probably 15 open tables. I was surprised and she said they have reservations. This was about 4:30 on a Sunday. I guess that is possible. But, it was also the snippy attitude of the hostess that set me off. As for the management, why would you have an employee standing out front trying to get people to come to the restaurant and then when they get there, you turn them away. That is just bad business and brings upset customers for no reason. We ended up going across the street to a nice pizza place that was very friendly and took us right in.
Lillies Italian near zoo 5/31/2025 Nice little place and outdoor - Service is very slow and not so synchronized - One young girl server was chewing gum with opened mouth while talking to customers and serving - certainly not very elegant nor professional 👎 the pieces of chicken were dried . The tiramisu has nothing to do like the same made original in Italy because it is not made by an Italian cook the idea is there but NOT the taste - which shows that nobody is Italian in the kitchen 🤔 - had pasta penne - but really can't say if it was house made 🤷♀️
Got seated immediately upon arrival after a young lady asked inside or out. We came here for the first time after the zoo and since the day was nice we opted for the patio.
A waiter came around and asked us if we were ready to order. We got an appetizer (the bruschetta) and two cokes. A little while later we ordered our mains (chicken parm and schnitzel) and some garlic bread.
Both appetizers came out at the same time and were very enjoyable. The bruschetta tasted fresh and complimented the garlic bread well.
My partners schnitzel arrived first and not too soon my parm did too. Food was very good and the servers were very quick and efficient getting us refills.
Thank you to all three of them who helped us. I understand as a server myself that busy patios can be hard to deal with, but they did great. Thank you and we will be back.
Overall, eating at this restaurant was a great experience. The staff were nice, the server we had (Dennis) was very friendly and polite. I’ll definitely recommend this place.
