I was extremely disappointed with the pastrami sandwich. I was expecting a nice thick sandwich with fresh pastrami and instead I got a greasy sandwich with little pastrami and the pastrami was fried. Not NYC at all.
A go-to spot near the office for fresh sandwiches. Friendly staff and consistently great food.
Once again, Loeb's did NOT disappoint! The food is fresh and delicious and their service is quick and quite efficient. Got fries for the first time and WOW! Just WOW!!! Can't wait to go back 🤗 Thank you

Went and got a tuna sandwich and an egg sandwich and a soup, total came out to almost $50
Lady at the cashier was rude when I asked if their soup had any other ingredients

We came from Alabam to visit your daughter for her birthday, and while walking around, we stumbled into the best sandwich ever. Highly recommended 5☆

My first visit to Loeb's Deli, I felt I had stepped out of DC and into New York. The smells, the decor, even Marlene's colorful personality gave me a NYC vibe. Marlene is all business taking my order. She appeared unapproachable at first but what a sweet lady! And the food was as good as it looked. Steve says the baked goods are homemade -you can taste the love. Tip1: KNOW what you want when it's your turn at the counter so no one has to wait on your decision. It gets pretty busy and quickly! Tip2: Check/learn the hours they are open. This is my third visit during lunch in a couple of weeks. I'll have to make a breakfast run soon. I think I'm hooked!!

Girlfriend really enjoyed her Empire State sandwich, whereas I thought the steak and cheese sandwich was the epitome of average. If I liked deli sandwiches, definitely go with one of those over a hot sandwich. Service was immaculate nonetheless

It was Saturday at 12:30pm on 5/17/2025. They were closed. Is this a kosher restaurant, if yes, I apologize for my ignorance and will remove this rating. Otherwise, no sign on the door, just empty and dark.
Looking for a wonderful deli in downtown DC? A family owned restaurant for 65 years, they must be doing something right. Try their specialty sandwiches, my fav is Walter’s Favorite, a pastrami on pumpernickel with Cole slaw and secret sauce.

A true gem of DC, Loeb's New York Deli personifies a landmark institution. I have been a faithful customer of theirs for 15 years and am among the first patrons to dine at their current location at 1712 Eye St. Since then, after countless sandwiches, I have come to know Marlene and Steve, as well as the late David (may he rest in peace). Nowhere in DC is there such an authentic and true taste of a Deli. Their Rubens are generous and cascade with corned beef. The Mazo Ball Soup is soothing and savory, and don't forget about the custom potato chips, made in house. These folks know how to run a great and eager business, and care deeply about it. Give it a try, and see for yourself what decades of success tastes like!

Great little gem with a variety of items! We ordered everything from the pastrami, corned beef and a hamburger! The bread was fresh, the meat had so much flavor but don’t skip on the desserts! Black and white cookie was yummy! Customer service was on point!
