We just arrived to Washington DC, settled in the hotel and went out to have first lunch at this restaurant. When we saw outside that it's a neighbourhood restaurant we went in. There were only 2-3 people but we waited to be seated as the ladies were group together chatting. The table which a young lady chose for us was dirty so I asked to be clean. That should warn us straight away. We both chose grilled burger (each USD 19) with salad and chips and tea (USD 5) and coffee (USD5). I wanted cappuccino as it was on the menu but was told they don't have it. The drinks came in mugs without sugar and milk which we asked for when ordered so we asked it again. It took a while when the young lady brought them. My husband likes his tea warm but it was already nearly cold. My coffee was not drinkable so I left it. We again waited for the meals and when they finally arrived chips were nearly burned and the whole meals was more cold than warm. Again, there were only a few people so the kitchen should have no trouble to make nice warm meals. We observed that the staff was constantly chatting with each to other and didn't bother about their guests. For this terrible and the only unpleasant experience we had during our holiday of over 5 weeks in US we paid USD50 and got no bill. Please avoid it - that's my recommendation.

Had a great experience at Logan Tavern—it’s a stylish, casual spot with a neighborhood feel right in the heart of Logan Circle. The vibe is warm and welcoming, with a modern interior that still feels relaxed and unpretentious.

The food was definitely a highlight. I ordered the salmon bowl, and it was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My friend got the short rib grilled cheese (highly recommend!) and we shared a side of Brussels sprouts that were perfectly crispy. The cocktail menu was fun and seasonal—I had the pear spritz, which was light and refreshing.

Friday night dinner with the family, what did the staff do well? NOTHING! Waited at the hostess station for 4+ minutes. A member of my party insisted we stay, I was ready to walk out. I’m still unclear if a hostess was on duty. A waitress stood silently at a booth and ushered us over. I knew all signs pointed to an exit, but not everyone agreed and we stayed. The service was slow, food & drinks mediocre, no it was really just awful. Polenta, burgers, fish & chips, soup, chicken, all dishes got meh and “not good” reviews. No apologies were offered for the poor service. It was a horrible experience and I was disappointed that my party even choose to leave a tip because it was not earned. I will never return and do not recommend you go either.

My fiancé and I visited this restaurant recently. It was my first time, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.

When we walked in, the young hostess simply said “table for two,” placed our menus on the table, and walked away without any direction or courtesy — no “please follow me” or a quick “I’ll be back with water.” This felt unprofessional, especially since we were the only guests in the restaurant at the time.

Things only got worse from there. My fiancé’s glass had a visible lipstick mark on it. When we pointed it out, the hostess quickly grabbed it, apologized, and walked away so fast that we couldn’t even ask for two new glasses and straws. She came back with only one glass and two straws, then never returned to check on us.

Thankfully, another waitress stepped in. She took our order, brought out our food, helped with my coffee, and even handled our check. She was wonderful — warm, helpful, and professional.

However, our original hostess later greeted a new group that came in and was suddenly very lively and engaging with them, offering recommendations and chatting — which made us feel even more disregarded.

It’s a solid diner! Love the food - service can be slow at times because they’re so busy but it’s not too bad and a good spot for brunch or drinks

This place is really mid at best. Burger, fine. Fries, soggy. Calamari, very good flavor, though felt like it had been sitting at room temperature for a while before we got it. It was 1:30pm in the afternoon and not very busy, so I can’t blame circumstances on that.

Also went to visit the bathroom, which is in another closed-off portion of the restaurant, and I literally tripped over a chair in the dark trying to find the restroom. Maybe trying turning on a light? And maybe don’t stack chairs right in front of the darkened hallway leading to the restrooms?

And one more: some ladies at the table next to us kept playing music loudly on their phones. They seem to be having a great time, but at some point I would expect management to talk to them about making the space respectful for all patrons. But no. They kept jamming.

I wouldn’t come back. Again, food wasn’t terrible, but not good enough either to overlook the other issues.

This mediocre place charges 3 percent commission for credit card payments, so I deduct that amount from the tip. The servers are paying for it. They are terrible anyway. For example, the won't seat you at the desired table even though the place is empty. The kitchen also doesn't process the orders in time. Is this a DEI place and just because of being black or gay owned, they think they can get away with ridiculous policies and mediocre food? I won't accept that three percent charge.

Stopped here this evening. Looked quaint. I was probably one of 3 people in the place yet it took 10 minutes to get a glass of water. I almost left... Then the server came and took my drink order, a martini. Five minutes later, sorry we don't have vermouth. So I left. Menu was typical bar food with a few additions that I doubt they had the skill to pull off. Recommend avoiding this place.

Enjoy this photo of me waiting to be greeted but ignored for 15 minutes at the hostess stand. If my friends weren’t so excited to eat here I would have left.

My friends and I had such a great time here. We all had the wings, truffle fries and margaritas and they definitely didnt disappoint. Our waitress was so sweet and helpful. I wish I could remember her name. The owner was also really cool and understanding. The music was so good and not loud, which we appreciated! I wish we had more time in DC, we would have definitely gone back but we had to get back to the A! Can't wait to visit again!
