Here out of town. Food was terrible. Mediocre everything. Chips were stale. Salsa not good. Queso was weird. I would be willing to bet $$$ that it was the Velveeta with peppers melted in the microwave. $7. We were expecting typical Mexican restaurant style white cheese dip. My husband said his beef tacos were terrible. The meat was wet, greasy, and caused the taco to fall apart after one bite, so he had to use a fork. I had a chicken combo with Chile Relleno and tamale. It was almost inedible. The tamale was like eating cornmeal mush. Margaritas were very “light” our frozen strawberry margaritas had no actual strawberries in them, but you could definitely taste the cheap high fructose corn syrup strawberry margarita mix. Not sure they put any tequila in them at all. At $30 for a half a pitcher…??
We came here because of all the 5⭐️ reviews. Not sure I get it. Are DC locals used to eating poor quality Mexican food? Was the restaurant having a bad night? Our party of 5 was in agreement that the food was awful. Very disappointing especially with a $187 tab.

Everything about this place was A++. Not sure how this place has not come up for me or my husband before but came here Tuesday night and we’re officially deeming this our go to spot. Everything was delicious and legitimately the best Mexican restaurant in DC and the best Margaritas in town.
1. The fajitas (chorizo, chicken, steak) had amazing flavor including the side of refried beans, steak was tender, didn’t skimp you on the veggies.
2. The chicken tamales did not disappoint - you can tell they care about their masa, and the chicken inside was juicy, not dry like many places.
3. The frozen margaritas were freshly made it isn’t just a bunch of syrup. I actually wasn’t going to get one but Oscar put my concerns at ease and pointed out it was still happy hour.
Such a relief to find a spot where you can count on food being delicious, where the vibe is chill and the people are great! Thank you Oscar, Diego, and Chris!

A rather inconspicuous Texmex restaurant from the outside that fully deserves its good reviews. The Caballeros deliver solid craftsmanship with a lot of dedication. The portions are also generous in terms of taste. At the beginning there are nachos with a sauce that is not too spicy. Each guest then adjusts the spiciness of the main courses themselves. The salsas are on the table. One of the waiters is a football fan, with a focus on PL and of course Mexico. The prices are very reasonable for the location. Of all the dinners in restaurants during our stay in the USA, this was the cheapest.

If you’re craving Tex-mex food and a warm, family-friendly atmosphere, Los Caballeros is where you need to be. The moment you walk in, you’re treated like family, and every dish bursts with rich, homemade flavors that make it the top spot in the city.
What really sets Los Caballeros apart is the incredible offers they have. I ordered a Fajita, and the second one came with a 25% discount—unreal! Deals like this, along with the vibrant and welcoming environment, make it a place you’ll want to return to again and again.
Run by a kind-hearted Mexican family, Los Caballeros delivers not just great food, but an experience you’ll never forget.

We're on vacation, and I have seen the great reviews, and we love Mexican food. The portions were very generous, in my opinion. The food was good, and the service was as well.
The only negative I experienced was I ran out of tortillas for my fajitas and had to walk up to the area where the waiter was to get more. Other than that, I would go back again.
