Had to down 2 glasses of water after my first few bites. Giving two stars instead of one because the pork was really good

We just returned from Japan a few weeks ago and visited the “dear sushi” concept at love, makoto to celebrate Valentine’s Day and I must say I was blown away with everything from start to finish. First upon entering through the hallway seeing the red columns immediately made me think of Fushimi inari. Our server, Alexis, took it from there, she was absolutely fantastic. As someone who has worked in the service industry for over a decade, working all positions up to management, Alexis provided exceptional service! She got us started with drinks which were not only beautiful and well thought out, they were so sooo good! We both got the omakase and it’s the only thing I’ve had since coming back from our trip that’s even come close to the food in Japan! Our favorites were the bluefin tuna “old school” and the o-toro “new school” they were both melt in your mouth delicious and so good we had to get seconds of those :) I wish I had gotten the server assistants names because they were also fantastic, the table was always clean, water full, I needed for nothing. We will absolutely be back!

Clinical atmosphere. Poorly executed. Chef blamed the cut of fish for their failure to prepare the tuna correctly.

Love Mokato Is an amazing restaurant with the best sushi I’ve ever had . The service was outstanding our waiter was attentive the entire time and make sure we were taken care of. Abu gave us incredible service; she was so kind, freindly, and truly make our experience special. Hands down the best service and an unforgettable meal. Highly recomended.

The food was really good, fresh, and great quality.
But they forgot the sauces, which are a big part of the flavor. It was my first time there, so I didn’t know they were supposed to come with the dish, and they only realized at the end after we were done eating.
They also added the tip automatically, which I didn’t like.
Overall, good food, but the experience could’ve been better with more attention to detail.

The traditional rolls are amazing, and the sushi is really good too. The wagyu in the sushi section was average compared to the rest, but the service was outstanding, super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

Love it here! Tried both Dear Sushi RW Lunch and Beloved BBQ. Both are phenomenal food for the price. The best thing about Love Makoto is the service. A+++++ for everyone there as soon as you walk in and every second until you walk out.

Everything was excellent!
Love, Makoto is split into three experiences, each functioning as separate restaurants. First inside is sushi.
Halfway down the hall is bbq.
In the back is a beverage bar.
First up in these pictures: bbq. The server started up the cutest grill in our table (every table) when we placed our order. The duck was amazing. The scallops cooked in the sizzling garlicky butter for about 4 minutes and were divine. Approx $25 each for 3 oz each.
20% tip is automatically added to each bill.
We also stopped by the sushi portion.
The drinks were so good. The edamame was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The tuna tartare was delicious with the cutest gigantic rice crackers that were more like hardened foam. The crab roll was far better than the California roll, purely because of the wrapping. They tasted very similar, as expected, but the soy wrapper on the crab was superior to the crumbly-yet-sticky seaweed wrapping of the California. Total here was closer to $130 for the two of us.
Overall this place would be a perfect dining spot for a date, dinner with a friend, or even for a family with either chill kids or more adults than children to divide and conquer (esp with the hot grill at the bbq tables).
Highly recommend.

Celebrated our son’s birthday here. The guest manager,Robin , was very welcoming and helped us enjoy the evening. She helped with our toddler and calmly handled a frazzled family!

I often have business lunches at Love, Makoto, and the experience is consistently excellent. When I walk in, and I see Robin, I know that my experience is going to be personalized. Robin truly stands out. She’s warm, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful. She always remembers that I enjoy champagne upon arrival and even knows which table I prefer. That level of care makes every visit feel personal and seamless. Exceptional service like this keeps me coming back.

Dear Sushi for lunch was incredible. Robin was very helpful and has to be the kindest restaurant manager I’ve ever met. Could not recommend this place more for lunch - it’s super affordable too!
