I really enjoy Love, Makoto. Each of the spaces are unique and memorable in their own way. The food at the izakaya is solid, the bakery has some of the best donuts in the city, and the hostess Robin has the warmest energy and makes me feel like a regular every time I come by. Many reasons to love Makoto.

Having recently returned from Tokyo, we were super excited to find love Makoto, and try it in the hope that it would be up to the standard we had experienced in Tokyo. we had dinner in the Izakaya restaurant, and were blown away by the quality of the food, the drinks and the service. Absolutely, Michelin star quality food! We cannot wait to return and try the other sit down restaurants. The picture is the Hamachi on crispy rice with Yuzu. It was spectacular.

Hip without the snark, the vibe is modern without being challenging. We had the omakase, which is very reasonably priced for omakase, but the drinks, including a torched at the table fugu infused sake cocktail added up.Service was friendly, interested, and attentive, including describing what we were being served. With the exception of the lively amuse bouche and the delicious hand rolls at the start of the meal, each course was paired presentations of nigiri in traditional but interesting preparations and the same fish in a nigiri with a more modern, often a little spicy, twist. And the cold dessert was wonderful, and I don't have much of a sweet tooth.Looking forward to returning the next time that we're in the area!

Nice concept but the price point is not justified for being an ordinary style restaurant. There is no ambiance, service is just ok and very little food for what you pay for. I will not visit again. There are many other nicer sushi options.

Love, Makoto? 5’s across the board. Robin was incredibly welcoming when we entered the venue. For my first time experiencing an Omakase I was truly blown away. I feel every dish was made with a purpose and the quality was top tier. Julie made sure to guide us through the menu from start to finish and also with the help of Alexis the service was phenomenal. I can’t wait to return to dibble in some of the cocktails.

We ate at the bar. Service was wonderful - food was great variety - tapas bite style. Loved the 4 separate experience spaces as it accommodates a wide price range. Robin was a delight.

My recent visit to Love, Mokoto in DC was truly a five-star experience! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance set the stage for a memorable evening with its unique and welcoming vibe. The menu offered an impressive array of dishes, each presenting a delightful fusion of flavors that left us savoring every bite.I cannot thank Robin enough for her outstanding service. It’s rare to find someone so committed to creating an unforgettable dining experience for the guests. Love, Mokoto is fortunate to have her as part of their team, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

First time going here to get sushi at Dear Sushi. My wife and I were very excited about this place, to our surprise the experience was like no other. First let me start by saying its a very nice clean restaurant! The server was amazing! The sushi was different from the sushi we normally order, if you're coming here and expecting to order sushi rolls think again they don't have sushi rolls here. This was a first for me but a great first! Our favorite was the blue crab handroll, delicious doesn't even begin to describe how wonderful it was. All the sushi was amazing, with that being said i probably won't be going back anytime soon ??? not because of a bad experience or anything like that, im just use to sushi rolls and being able to select what i want to order and this just isn't the place you can do that at, they already have it set up what's going to be served but again everything was amazing. Its also very expensive as well so make sure you're ready to spend.
