Shared mumbo, lucky and ej jefe buns and a chopped cheese wrap. Every single one was delicious and quiet different in taste. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
We had an amazing experience at Lucky Buns! The burgers were absolutely fantastic — juicy, flavorful, and best of all, halal. It’s honestly rare to find halal burgers in the U.S. that are this delicious — most are bland, but Lucky Buns really nailed it.
A special shoutout to Will, our waiter, who was incredibly polite and helpful. His kindness made our visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality halal food with great service!
The most non assuming gem in DC!
Everything was delicious, service was great!
The Mumbo Nugs will set you free.
This place is the real deal yall.
I walk into and it’s just a good vibe overall, the service was excellent and the food was next level. Would definitely recommend this to anyone I know looking for restaurants in DC
It is the best burger I have ever had in my life. The fries were amazing. Definitely order the chicken nuggets too. I am definitely going there again.
After 3 days in town I've been here twice, that's how good it is! The first time we the Bogun Bun, Mumbo bun, and Chopped Cheese sandwich. It was our first night in town and this was our first taste of mumbo sauce - we loved it! The mumbo makes a delicious spicy/sweet chicken sandwich and the slaw is a great flavor combo. However, the real star was the bacon jam on the Bogan, it was very good and overall that bun had a fantastic blend of flavors. The chopped cheese sandwich was like a spin on a Philly cheesesteak, it was good, but not as good as the other two.
The second time we had the Mumbo Nugs and the El Jefe bun. The nugs were very good, the blend of flavors with the sauce, peanuts and peppers, topped with cilantro and mint, all together made a very delicious bite. The El Jefe was good, but nothing dramatically different than other similar burgers we've had before.
Both times the service was great. The second time we had the pup so sat on the patio and they automatically brought him a small water bowl which I appreciate.
Great food cheese fries are for real! Thick fries that are crispy and loaded with awesome flavor. Great beer on tap.
This place is AMAZING. Super friendly staff. Incredibly fast service. Cool vibe. And the burgers are unbelievable. And… I’ve never had steak fries like this that are actually crispy. It’s like the texture of a shoestring fry but just much bigger. This place is DOPE.
I took my son to DC on a little vacation, and our last night there we ended up here. I couldn’t have been more happier with the staff here. They made it so fun for my boy, included him, talked to him, made him a special lemonade. They even charged my phone for me. And beside all that, the burger was absolutely killer! Thank you guys. We will be back!!
Best burger I've ever had in my life. Came for a 3 day vacation, and tried various burgers around the area... none were close to this. So many different ways you could have your burger, I had the el Jefe. Amazing. Our server was a super nice dude, restaurant was a great vibe and the workers genuinely seemed happy and in good vibes. 10/10 experience definitely coming back if whenever I visit again.

This place is all about burgers, but I usually seem to come here during happy hour, which goes a little longer than most places (until 7, I believe). Nice outdoor space with good people-watching on 18th Street in Adams Morgan.
Happy hour has good drink deals and a few smaller versions of regular menu items, if I remember correctly. The mumbo nugs absolutely "slap" as the kids say. Think they're cooked in a sweet Thai chili sauce and come with mint leaves and cilantro and crushed peanuts. For someone who's spent a lot of time in SE Asia and whose favorite cuisine is Thai, I absolutely love these.
Fries are big ol' steak/diner fries and come with a delicious vinegar cream kinda sauce.
Last night I got a burger for only the second or third time and maybe I was especially hungry and/or the perfect amount of buzzed, or just happy to find a place still serving food at 10:00 on Thanksgiving weekend, but it was quite simply one of the best burgers I've ever had. I asked them to surprise me with their best chicken burger and they served up a "mumbo bun." It's the best burger I've had in DC for sure. I've heard a few people grumble about having to pay extra for fries, but the burgers are absolutely huge and have so much going on with them flavor-wise that I was glad I didn't order fries and could barely finish the burger on its own.
I've lived in the neighborhood for a few years now and overlooked this place until recently. Now it's one of my go-to spots. Nice people working there, friendly service, and they knock the food out of the park.
Parking: Might be tough to find parking right on 18th Street, but go up the side street (the restaurant's on a corner but can't remember what the intersecting street is) and you can probably find free street parking.
