Oh my goodness! I'm diabetic and I should have kept walking BUT, I'd rather die happy! Small treats, somewhat pricey but worth every penny, every delicious bite. Little corner stop in Union Station.
Their banana pudding is the best I have ever had. I also tried their German Chocolate cheesecake. It was a very dense and heavy cheesecake with a thick soggy bottom. It didnt really taste like anything but one giant lump of sweet cheese. The delicate flavors of grahamcracker crust and chocolate were lost. Mediocre at best.
This was a pleasant surprise. Magnolia Bakery recently opened its doors in Union Station. I've only had the chocolate chunk blondie, and it was very well done. It was moist and had a good balance between the rich chocolate and blondie. Its located in the train station and will often have lines during peak times, like noon or 5pm. The prices are reasonable for this type of dessert centric establishment. My complaint is that they didn't have cheesecake available but promised...
