Calorie refund please…The staff were excellent, very friendly and kind! The food unfortunately didn’t live up to expectations. We went based on a high review, and it was fine-ish, and the portions were decent, but it all tasted like airport baked goods. The pain au chocolate was quite tough and chewy, without the chocolate well baked into it. The cheddar and chive scone was not flavorful or dense. It tasted bitter if anything. And the gluten free chocolate cake’s texture was off, and the flavor lacked richness. (And they had run out of most of the standard baked goods by the time we went at 11:30am.)

I tried the drip coffee, and it was good. The girl who works there is very nice. I ordered 2 minutes before closing, and she got my order with a smile. I really appreciate that.

Great place for croissants and cinnamon rolls! Get there on the earlier side because some of the popular items sell out quickly.

I'm in love with their cinnamon roll - I asked them to heat it up and it was amazing! I also love their tea selection - I ended up buying the brand of tea on amazon after. I've tried their croissants and cookies as well and you can just tell it is all quality. I come here every time I stay in the Navy Yard. Also, the service there is top notch. The last time I went, I was with a friend and she unfortunately fainted while we were sitting and chatting. The staff immediately went into action, helped me lift my friend up, called 911, and stayed close as the EMTs came. I'm so amazed by their kindness. Not only did I love their pastries and tea, but how they helped my friend that day warmed my heart.

Mah-Ze-Dahr is a heavenly bakery that delights the senses with its exquisite pastries. The turkey gruyere croissants are a savory masterpiece, with flaky layers enveloping a flavorful filling. The brioche doughnuts are an indulgence, boasting a delicate texture and delectable flavors. The vanilla choux pastries are a divine treat, with their light and airy cream-filled shells. Each bite is a testament to the bakery's commitment to craftsmanship and quality ingredients. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff enhance the overall experience, making Mah-Ze-Dahr a perfect spot to indulge in the finest pastries. Whether you're craving a savory delight or a sweet indulgence, this bakery is a must-visit destination for pastry connoisseurs.

Delicious selection of unique pastries (I got the brioche donut that’s filled with a pastry cream and comes with a bonus donut hole and a monkey bread croissant). I also got the cold brew oat latte that was on draft which was creamy and delicious pairing perfectly with the pastries. Staff was friendly, quick, and courteous! Definitely recommend.

This place has a lot of crossaint options and I’m looking forward to coming back to try others because for over $6 I couldnt justify more than one. I had the chocolate almond crossaint. I’d give it a 3.5 out of 5 because of it being hard. but I am curious if all of them are as hard as this one was. Even before feeling it, I had asked the person who took my order to heat it up and they said yes but then just put it in the bag? So idk. But I also think it would have just toasted it more. Making it even harder. I took it home and put it in the microwave to soften and it was good

Mah Ze Dahr Bakery of Navy Yard is a community staple. They have an amazing Oat Draft Latte that I have been on the hunt for since my move from Chicago. And their croissants are nothing short of a quick-morning-breakfast dream. The staff is attentive and friendly— Imani is the manager who is just lovely and beyond kind. I also just ordered a full “heavenly cheesecake” for our engagement party and it was a family favorite! Thank you for you’re grace, spectacular food and elite service!

This is a real bakery - perfect croissants (and I have a very high bar) Also - my first draft oat latte!!!! You read that right. Oat latte ON DRAFT I’m a convert. Smoother and more delicious than a regular oat latte (and quicker.) No regrets - worth the calories. And the $$.

We picked this “bakery” with expectation to have a fresh breakfast. Spend 40$ for 2 tiny sandwiches, small granola bar and two coffees. Sandwiches were from frozen and didn’t look eatable so I asked for fresh one. Girls brought another defrosted… sandwich made with croissant defrosted… milk they use is cheapest can get too. I wouldn’t recommend this place

I went here last weekend with my girlfriend for breakfast. she had a turkey brioche sandwich (maybe I'm misremembering the fancy name!) and I ordered the cheese danish. We sat outside on an overcast day. When we opened our food, I had actually received a different item from the one I ordered, so I'm not sure what it was called but it tasted like Thanksgiving stuffing in a scone, which was fantastic. Having no idea what to call it, I really wish that I took the time to go back in and check because it was delicious. I'm sure the cheddar danish would've been just as tasty, but I really enjoyed my order. My gf said she loved her sandwich and we both left satisfied!I'm not giving a 5 simply because of the order mix-up but it sincerely was not that big of a deal and i was more than happy with the item I got. I just thought it would be good to note that it would've been a 5 otherwise!

Not liking the service when I stopped there. I spent over $35 to try everything but not loving any item as they were not freshly made and sat overnight. Neither manager or server were very nice that morning and was extremely slow with no crowd at7 am on a Tuesday.. Probably a good pastry chef behind the scene elsewhere. Fresh Baking goods were not yet delivered to the shop for breakfast rush. Maybe a greeting and a smile should be part of the training for senior and new staff. A little assurance of new fresh pastries coming and offer to swap them out would be in order for would be buyer who is giving the shop a good try.

Small but clean and a plentiful selection of delicious bakery items. I got the almond croissant and thought it was delicious - a true almond croissant which isn’t easy to find. I automatically ordered my usual drink (an americano) so I didn’t realize they had salep on the drink menu until now as I’m posting this. Will likely go back to try it! I never see salep at coffee shops and I fell in love with it when I lived in Turkey. Very cool that they have it!
