Service was great but as Koreans the food here was average at best. Everything was very salty and way too sweet but dishes might appeal to those who are new to Korean food. The menu had a great variety and generous portions but overall the taste of everything we ordered was below average except for the soondoobu jigae which my Korean dad said was fantastic.
The server was very helpful and explained the dishes to me. He made sure I did not get something that was too hot for my palate. They also surprised my daughter with dessert because I let them know that she was learning Korean and we were in town to see a K-pop concert. We were surprised and very happy with the special treatment
I wanted my Korean girlfriend to take me to some place with good Korean food in DC. She was hesitant about this place, but finally decided to give it a try. We were both extremely happy and the food was amazing. She loved how authentic it was and it was a proper way for me to enjoy Korean food in DC.
During my trip to Washington DC, I visited a Korean restaurant near my hotel. I was surprised by two things. I was surprised that there were no Korean staff in the hall serving staff or even in the kitchen, and I was surprised again by the price, which was higher than I expected. Since I was going back to LA in just one day, rather than ordering expensive food, I ordered dumplings and steamed chicken since the name of this restaurant is Mandu. The dumplings weren't bad, and the braised chicken was a bit salty and spicy, but it wasn't bad when eaten with rice. Bean sprouts, seasoned cucumbers, seasoned seaweed, and kimchi were served as side dishes, and they tasted as good as if they were made by a Korean. The young customers at the surrounding tables were ordering $30 meals per person, which seems to indicate that the standard of living in this area is very high. Two thoughts came to mind as I walked out of the restaurant: from the customer's perspective, the price was too high for Korean food. Another thought, from the perspective of Koreans, was that it would be okay for Korean restaurants to be recognized for their value by charging high prices like other restaurants. I think traveling is very valuable because it allows you to learn things you didn't know before and to think differently through new experiences.

Avoid this place. The service was horrible and they are very rude. Expensive food, not worth it. They even charge us side dishes that no other Korean restaurant does.

Absolutely delicious meal. Our waiter was fantastic. Everything we ate was perfect. We recently returned from extended trip to Korea and food did not disappoint. We let the waiter order for us. No regrets. Highly recommend and we will be back!
I've eaten here for several years and the food has always been good. For whatever reason, on my last visit, my party did not feel welcome. It appeared that the restaurant didn't want a large party and the service was not good.
Great food and service, would recommend to others. A little pricy but we’re happy with the food.
Ambiance needs some warmth, maybe candles or plants.

Absolutely wonderful meal. This is the second time we have eaten at Mandu. We love it. The KFC is sinfully good. The Galbi was amazing. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful.
Upon arrival the staff is super welcoming with smiles (loved it). Very cute intimate spot. As soon as seated our server had waters on the table. Was also very grateful for his attention to us && dietary restrictions mentioned when acquiring about a dish substitutions but not actually saying. My girlfriend said the chicken wings were bomb. I got the veggie mandu fried && they were packed && meaty. For my dish I tried something different but really enjoyed it ! Dessert was highlight of the meal though! the croiffle was out this world. Almost had to get one to go! i will be back for that && the fresh gnger beer.

The Korean food here doesn’t feel very authentic, especially the galbi. The cut, flavor, and sides are not quite what you'd expect when you order galbi. On a positive note, when you order an entrée, the sides are included, which is a nice touch. Service was good too.

Restaurant empty but still asked to move when we found a bigger table then placed right by the frozen wind of the door. Meat steamed not Grilled. Dumplings rubbery. Staff texting talking to each other, and looking at phones rather than serving clients.
Ordered takeout by phone as you cannot place a pickup order online through Toast.
We ordered two entrees (soondubu and gamjaetang). At the cost of these soups, both around $30, I expected to receive two banchans. This is not to mention that their prices have increased exponentially over the past year.
Great food, but definitely overpriced. Also, beware: if you order through the Mandu website they shunt you off to a third party site without telling you, so you are then able to change or cancel the order, even if you call the restaurant (rather convenient for them, eh?).
Unbelievably good food, great server who was exceptional with allergies and recommendations. Try those chicken wings! And just about anything else on the menu.
