This place was one of my childhood fans. Mario's used to have the best pizza pies..you know the square slices of pizza with extra cheese on top baked on a thick crust to perfection. So 40 years later I wanted to see if the memories I had has a child were still true. So I ordered the sausage pizza pie. 6 slices come in a pie or you can order individual slices. So the pie looked the same although I noticed the filler sausage and pizza sauce seemed flatter than usual. Taste was almost I st the same. I know that some things do change in over 20 years such as ownership, ingredients etc. Overall I enjoyed the infamous Mario's. Next time I would just order extra sausage topping to make up for my mastaligic memories....

Worst service ever, I’ve been patronizing this business over 40 years. My family lived right across the street. I moved to Georgia and came back in town to visit. Met some old friends and went to get some pizza for nostalgia. When I saw the owner preparing my food, I mentioned something to the owner about him not having gloves on…. He said I didn’t have to come back….first thing I thought was…wow…I think the board of health should hear about that.

if you're a scared easily person.. not for you.. but the fearless food warrior, got no problem climbin over folks for good eats. Mario's is a cornerstone location for the city. they'v suffered highs and lows and still they persist. if thay don't tell you about the food then me sayin the pizza has snap won't do it either. so get on in there and give it a whirl.. your taste buds will thank you.

GO TO MARIO’S PIZZA HOUSE IN VA!!!!! I grew up coming to this DC location with my parents in the late 90’s - early 2000s, it was our favorite pizza spot, the pizza was sooo good.. squared thick buttery crust, the pizza sauce was like no other pizza place & that cheese pull was amazing!!!! I was so disappointed when I picked my pizza up the crust was thin & it for sure didn’t hit the same as I remembered!!!! So today after getting my oil changed in VA I see Mario’s Pizza House, the same as this one in DC, & I decided to give it a try. 10/10 I highly recommend

Been going to Mario's since middle school and high school back in 74 all the way to the 2025
1. The person didn’t even know what a cheesesteak is, was just reading off of the menu and asking questions like “do you want lettuce and tomato on it?” Lettuce and tomato on a cheese steak? 2. The cheese steak was horribly under seasoned, had no mayo, lacked good cheese (no cheese pull) on some of the lowest quality bread known to mankind 3. They closed their doors right behind us, and that was about 20 minutes before closing time. So had we went there a tiny bit late, we’d have returned empty handed. 4. 22$ for a 12 inch cheesesteak that’s that bad is ridiculous

The BBQ wing dings are on point! Like the best I’ve had in a long time! The flavors were amazing! And the rice was cooked with fresh oil, you can tell. I ordered a steak and cheese sub. It was no seasoning but I got home and seasoned it and it turned out way better with the seasoning. If I could recommend anything… try the BBQ wings. You can’t go wrong. I’m going back tomorrow to order some more. It’s a little pricey, but it’s worth it!!!

Our stomachs were touching our backs slim🤦🏾♂️. So we decided on a SE historic site from our teenage years in the heart of DC . WE ordered a mushrooms, green pepper, onions, bell peppers, & beef pizza. All I can say is torch 🔥👌🏾

Purchased a whole sausage sub and asked for provolone cheese, they put american cheese on it and had a Nasty attitude when I brought it back to them!!! Since the Hispanics been in there the quality of food is TERRIBLE!!
