I came here after reading that JFK famously proposed to Jackie at Martin’s — and honestly, that little piece of history makes the place even more magical. Since I adore Georgetown and keep coming back, this spot was a must.

Met some work buddies at Martin’s Tavern and ended up ordering a few different things. The shepherd’s pie was hearty and filling, rich with that Guinness flavor and piled high with mashed potatoes. The French onion soup was probably my favorite though, loaded with cheese and the broth had real depth to it. I tried the ahi tuna salad which was lighter, fresh and had a nice sesame crust that gave it some crunch. Couldn’t leave without dessert so i went with the bread pudding...
