This restaurant's name is highly offensive to the African American community it predominantly serves, in now, gentrified Shaw. Can you imagine a black woman owning a restaurant called Kim II Sung Dumplings in Koreatown and not only being able to have a business operable and serving that community but also employee them? I'll answer for you, no you cannot as an Asian woman with the slightest bit of knowledge or known history of Kim II Sung imagine it. Similarly how the Japanese brothers and sisters could not and did not allow Kim Kardashian to name her shapewear line KIMONO based on the offensiveness. I bought this to Ayeshah Abuelhiga attention via Instagram and instead of dialogue she removed my comment and blocked me. Ayeshah is a proud child of immigrant parents of Korean and Palestinian ethnicity raised in Baltimore, MD and cannot say she does not know the history of Mason Dixon or it's offensiveness. I in no way, shape or form support this type of undertone racially insensitive restaurant in Shaw. There are so many ways to describe southern comfort foods than the aforementioned; try Milk & Honey which has THEE BEST southern biscuits with all natural ingredients also black owned.

Oh my goodness the food was amazing. The biscuits were buttery and melted in your mouth. It was the perfect sandwich. I got the potato wedges too but I thought they were a little bland. I didn’t need them to compliment the meal; the sandwich was perfect by itself. Highly recommend.

Says they open at 8 but on Saturday morning they are still not open at 8:40. They were inside but ignored customers out in the cold. Went out of our way to visit and will NOT return!

Yes it's a hole in the wall but I cannot begin to tell you if the food is any good. What I will say is that today wasn't the best day for customer service . I went in and was told the menu was on the wall and turned around to give my order and was standing by myself for the next 10 minutes. I just left after that .

The food here is usually really good. However, I've noticed a decline in customer service. Today we came in got our food and the waitress did not check on us once. We had to grab her attention just to get a to go box. The cashier needs a new position. Everytime we visit she aks like taking our order is a hassle.

I love this place! The staff are friendly, the restaurant and bathrooms are very clean, and it's one of the few places in DC open before 11. I ordered breakfast there on Saturday at 8 am and was not disappointed. I got the two egg and cheese and hash browns and it was very good. My friend got a dark meat fried chicken biscuit with spicy honey that was also very good! Not too greasy and very filling. The biscuits are denser than I've been taught biscuits are supposed to be, but I really enjoy the texture.

Mason Dixie Biscuit Company has excellent biscuits and fried chicken. The combination together in the Classic Fried Chicken Sandwich is remarkable with spicy and sweet sauce. Small sit-down dining area with the decor of an old-fashioned soda fountain diner. It closes early so plan accordingly. No beers or booze.

Love this place. Hands down the best egg biscuit in the area. Consistently great food and nice service. Their mash potatoes are fantastic too.

The biscuits here are wonderful but they don't make up for some of the flaws in customer service and the room temperature food. Problems: 1) Despite asking one of the wait staff to wipe off our table, nobody ever did. Forcing us to clean up what we could with some napkins which feels quite unsanitary. 2) Um, $1.99 for a glass of sweet tea/soda with no refills? No thanks. 3) Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of potential with the food but it was all room temperature and nobody formally serves you, so there's really nobody to ask for your food to be warmed up. Good parts: 1) The biscuits are amazing! And so is the bumbleberry jam. 2) I got the train wreck which was good. It would have been great if the food was actually hot or at least warm. 3) The location is great. Right off the metro!

I had a very disappointing experience at Mason Dixie. I made the mistake of going there on New Year's Day. Me and my friend each ordered a sandwich. After waiting more than 30 minutes, we asked about the status of our order and were told by one of the employees that the sandwiches weren't ready yet. They could not provide an estimate as to when the food would be ready. I noticed they were prioritizing online orders and they were also short-staffed. I appreciate the fact that they had employees willing to work on New Year's Day, but if your business doesn't have enough employees to deliver quality service, you should consider closing for the day.

I'll give them two stars for decor but overprice for the quality of food that I was served and when I asked for barbecue sauce I was told $.53 cents which should come free with the cost of the food and the biscuits aren't same as they use to be from the old location they taste frozen not fresh light and fluffy I wash my hands with this place and will continue to go to (Roaming Rooster) quality chicken and good food overall O yea and check the rule board when you come in to the left of the register I thought I was dinner in jail.

Deliciousness - 5/5 Happiness - 4/5 I was really blown away. Having spent a few years in the South, it has been a long time since I had a biscuit this good. It was thick, warm, and filling, everything you want in a biscuit. Specifically, I got the spicy ranch chicken and biscuit sandwich - with fried chicken buffalo sauce and ranch. The biscuit held up really well under all that sauce, not crumbling away like many others do when subjected to all that sauce. The flavors were all excellent, although I wouldn't have minded a bit more heat. I also splurged and got a chocolate milkshake (I biked back to work so I at least mitigated the damage). The milkshake is good, but not too memorable. What I did really like was that it came in a metal container so it stayed really cold the whole time. It paired really nicely with the sandwich. The service was nice but not quick or overly attentive. The food was so good though, that I didn't mind in the least.

Tucked right next to the Shaw metro stop, I popped in for a biscuit before a day of being a local tourist and couldn't be happier with the choice. For just $5 I got the simple two egg + cheese biscuit, with the over easy eggs cooked to perfection. I was pleased with the Crystal hot sauce (always love to see good hot sauce with breakfast) and the not pictured honey mustard -- which was just how I like it, more honey than mustard. Added coffee for $2.50; not a big cup for the price, but I didn't ask about refills as we were in a hurry to move on. We will be back.

Really nice place, food comes out so fast because only the eggs are cooked to order. Really good but the biscuits weren’t as good as I hoped. Nice staff

Food amazing. Bacon eggs and cheese is my favorite. With some mac and cheese. Gonna miss it.
