We had dinner at the Kitchen Counter, which was a good time, but we can’t say the meal was worth $800. Most of the dishes were good, but not exceptional as one would expect at this price point. Service was good though. The restaurant is fairly small so the waitstaff is really on top of things. Would return if they offered an a la carte menu, but will not be back for the prix fix menu based on the lack of value for the high price paid.

Pathetically bad. Service and food were terrible.

This place is a joke coasting on some artificial score from Michelin. They have a cocktail menu with premium spirits listed and despite sitting at the bar for the first round of cocktail the bartender used inferior low cost spirits to make the drinks without blinking an eye. Service was horrendous for the six course pairng and honestly it was all disappointing. Waste of time and money and wouldn’t ever recommend this spot to anyone. $3000 down the drain

All around great experience. Went with the 8 course chefs menu and was pleasantly surprised. Only had a small part of one dish that was just a little too salty, which i mentioned to Chef, and he appreciated the feedback. They have multiple pairing options, as well. I had caviar added to my fish dish, and added 5 cheeses with my dessert. All were delicious. Highly recommend giving this spot a try.

This restaurant exceeded my expectations. To start, the service was amazing. Each staff member we encountered was incredibly kind and knowledgeable on the food and drinks that were being served. Our server, Mo, was also one of the better parts of the experience as he was both friendly and genuinely funny. The atmosphere was very pleasing and their playlist was top tier. As for our food, everything was cooked to perfection and the wine pairing complimented each dish nicely. I loved each with the execution of one course, the lamb lasagna (To note, I am personally not a huge fan of lamb). Something else to note, they also sell really nice candles which was a pleasant surprise.

Wonderful dinner and top-tier Michelin experience! Enjoyed every dish, thought the wine pairing were excellent, and thought the service was great! Favorites were the risotto and the tomato dish. Highly recommend!

Beyond disappointing. I really don't get it the food was elementary at best. I've eaten at MANY Michelin star restaurants. I just don't understand how this place got a star. It makes no sense. Service wasn't even good, which you would expect at these prices. Contrived all the way around. Would give it ZERO stars if I could.

So bad, my boyfriend and I still laugh about it months later. Can’t believe he paid almost $600 for this to be our anniversary dinner. There were cockroaches everywhere, and for the whole meal servers were crunching them and killing them. A woman from the other table kept screaming and ended up leaving before she finished her meal. I had my feet up the whole meal so they wouldn’t crawl up me. I’ve never experienced that at any other restaurant in my life. I get that it’s outside, but it’s a closed in patio and I’ve never seen this at any other outdoor restaurant in dc. On top of that, the food was mid at best. It was a lot of bread and a main course was dumplings with cheese, so just felt very carby and filling without much flavor. Drinks were insanely expensive and cocktails are like $40. My bf actually felt sick when we left I think from the foie gras because it was so fatty. By far the most expensive meal I’ve ever had, and the only restaurant experience I’ve ever had where a waiter actually killed a cockroach on my table. And it’s not like they offered a free wine or really apologized for the cockroach situation. Definitely would recommend visiting any other restaurant in DC.

Not sure how they earned their title. Service felt very rushed. The server didn’t even explain the menu before he started upselling. Food was mediocre at most. Truffle forward but masked the natural aroma and flavor the actual ingredients. Very disappointed.

I really wanted to love this place. I've worked in fine dining. I've lived in Italy. I happily pay good money for chef's tables at Michelin restaurants. I love the up close experience watching a talented chef and team work. But we didn't feel the food and experience were worth the price.

The food was generally good. They do serve you a lot with the eight courses. Pasta and risotto dishes were excellent. A sweet burrata dish early on threw off my palate. (My husband, with his sweet tooth, enjoyed it—so it’s clearly subjective.) The poultry was tough in spots, and the fennel with the crab was hard to cut. The cocktails were excellent. The wine pairings were also great and worked well with the dishes, except I didn't love the dessert pairing which was anise flavored. (Risky pick given how many people don't love anise.) But the real disappointment was the service and ambiance.

We did the chef’s tasting at the kitchen counter and paid over $1K for two people. Unlike other Michelin chef’s tables I’ve experienced, the chef never acknowledged us, and only one member of the kitchen team briefly interacted. I wasn’t expecting extensive interaction since it was a Saturday and they could have been busier than usual, but the experience felt cold and impersonal. I don't think a chef should offer a chef's table if they don't plan to interact with guests.

Burrata was definitely a highlight, wonderful service and a nice secluded vibe made it feel like a private dining experience
