Just returned from a trip to DC and had made reservations in late May for dinner at McCormick & Schmick's Seafood (K Street location) in DC for June 11 at 6 pm. On the 11th, we looked for directions to the restaurant and no longer saw any listening. I called the number and was told no one was available to answer the call, which led be back to the M & S website for another location to call. The other M&S DC location answered and said the the K Street location had closed the week before. No new reservation was offered, no apology, no further answers. We luckily made last minute reservations at Ruth Chris Steakhouse. I'm very disappointed in this treatment and doubt I will ever return to McCormick & Schmick's in the future for any location. Such poor customer service !
We went for Mother's Day, so it was a little busy. We were able to get a table for 9 ppl, and the meal was delicious. Will definitely be going back. Just be prepared to pay for parking and have to walk a block or two.
The service was good because our waiter was attentive and pleasant. However, the food was not good at all. That was the consensus of our party of 14 people. Prior to our reservation, the host was unaccommodating and unprofessional. She seemed to think she was speaking with one of her friends and not confirming a dinner reservation.
I always look forward to enjoying my birthday reward and trying something different. I am saddened to say that the experience was definitely below standard. I thought it would be easier to make a reservation - so I did. When I arrived, no one was there to greet me and take me to my table - so I just went to a table near the bar. The server, Victor, was not the most enthusiastic person I have experienced at this establishment. I immediately placed my order as I already knew what I wanted. I had to wait 30 minutes for grilled chicken breast, mashed potatoes, and string beans and I only had an hour for lunch. The food wasn't even hot. I was not given any silverware to eat and had to grab one from another table. Victor didn't come by and ask if I needed anything or if my food was ok. I was not offered salt/paper as there was none at the table or a refill on my Arnold Palmer. The highlight of the visit was supposed to be dessert. Because of the slowness of service and lack of passion in the establishment, I was not able to enjoy - let alone order dessert. I love the Upside-Down Candied Walnut Apple Pie with Cinnamon Ice Cream. Maybe, I will go back another day to enjoy but will have to give it some serious thought. Based on this experience, I can't recommend McCormick & Schmick's to a friend.
Parking was a bit odd as the Colonial Parking garage in the building (off 17th) closes at 7pm however, was able to park on the street on the same side of the block as the restaurant. Ambience was great; biz casual, lots of folks coming after work for dinner & drinks. The occasion for us was a birthday but the restaurant didn't do anything special, not expected. The food was very good & fresh, drinks were also good with a solid standard wine list & mock-tails however I'd like to have seen more interesting wine selections available by the glass. Appetizers came out very timely after ordering those & drinks however, the kitchen rushed the entrees into the appetizers about 10 minutes too fast. But between getting everything early opposed to getting it late, I'll take early any day. Steaks were cooked very nicely to order but the mashed potatoes were just ok. We didn't do dessert as a birthday cake awaited at home. Service was great! I'd definitely not hesitate to eat here again but with so many options downtown, it will probably be a while. The Hamilton for example is a nicer venue for the food & drink options at this price point.
Service was slow and businesslike, not exactly welcoming, though it might've been caused by understaffing or other management issues. My swordfish was dry and set on a spinach mishmash.
Extremely slow service. Waited 30 minutes for each drink. Food was very average.

My wife and I wanted to give M&S another try after the remarkably poor service on our previous visit, where the waiter just disappeared. So let's start with the positives-Marshall provided superb service! The clam chowder had lots of clams and the lobster bisque had a generous amount of lobster. My swordfish was excellent, as were the spinach and mac & cheese sides, and the creme brulee we shared afterwards. But my wife's grilled tuna was mushy and flavorless, and the mashed potatoes likewise were just bland. Really disappointed in that entree for the price we paid.
I can’t say enough how wonderful the entire staff was from helping me book my meeting( thank you Chase in Kansas) to greeting manager ( thank you Marshall) who generously offered the convenience of a private room to hold my dinner meeting, to my server ( thank you Calvin) who took immaculate care of all of us to the check out manager ( thank you EIrene) who helped me close out my meeting with only praise. FYI: the food was great also!I would highly return to host another event!Thank you all!

Great variety of seafoods & steak options. (My salmon was Delish!) Bar menu offered creative selections. The service was good. We got a reservation for an early eve meal on a Saturday at the last minute. (Since its located in a business area, I think getting in weekdays would be more challenging.) Enjoy ~
Dietary restrictions: I have a food allergy, and my salmon was clearly marked, to keep it separated. Well done M&S!

Went here for anniversary dinner since we had a gift card. The place was pretty empty at 7:15 on a Saturday but we had a reservation anyway. Weird vibes at the host podium then got sat right on top of the door where the servers go in and out. Very romantic. Our server was polite and good at her job. The Thai coconut curry muscles appetizer was good. Berry mojito was decent. My filet and lobster tail were inedible. The filet appeared to be a good size for a 6oz but it was so overly salted I felt sick to my stomach every time I took a bite. The lobster tail was tough and rubbery. The sautéed spinach was blah - needed seasoning but I didn’t want to risk a heart attack from salting it after the 3 bites of filet I forced myself to choke down.I’m truly shocked at how bad this dinner was. Yikes.

Absolutely 5 star review! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the freshness of the bread and butter to the perfection of the 20 oz rib steak, every detail of my meal is leaving me a lasting impression. The mashed potatoes and spinach, possibly a family secret, added an extra layer of satisfaction to my dining experience. The attentive service from my waiter and the chef's attention to detail, ensuring my plates arrived piping hot and my food stayed warm, truly elevated the meal. I'm eager to return every three months when I'm in town. I hope this review entices others to give the restaurant a try!

The filet mignon was ordered medium and cooked well and very dry. I don’t send food back so I was very disappointed. The server and atmosphere were good.
