Small amazing mom and pop restaurant and ethiopian grocery store.
Gem of Washington DC when it comes speciality Ethiopian food! This is like the Lions den if you love high quality meat!
It's family owned joint that makes everyone feel like family.
If you are a vegetarian that needs rehabilitation and reintroduction to society ... This is where you should taste your first meat dish.

Super good Ethiopian food at an affordable price, we were greeted as we entered and sat down at a table. The owner spoke great English and asked if we wanted beef or lamb (for our protein). We asked for the beef and they started to prepare our food. We helped ourselves to some drinks from the cooler. About 15min later our food was ready and was served family style. The beef was spread out in between the vegetable dishes including hummus, lentils, chickpeas, salad, cabbage, and a few other things we didn’t recognize. We were so hungry and the food looks so delicious. We forgot to take time to take a picture, but I would give the food five out of five stars as well. The total bill with drinks and for four people came out to be $48 which seem very affordable to me.I would not recommend this place for a romantic date but if you’re looking for high-quality affordable Ethiopian food, this is a place to be.Next time we’re in DC we will return here for sureOh, and it was also served traditional style with no silverware, you use your hands to break off the bread and eat each of the items

This is an authentic experience. There are no utensils, no menus, and not much English. The choices are lamb or beef, the food is great, and the people are friendly.
