This restaurant is CLOSED! Completely gone and replaced with another restaurant called Big Sky which we found when we thought we were going to Mello Mushroom. Big Sky was AMAZING!

A LITTLE pricey and the sauce is really sweet, but otherwise a great spot for damn good pizza. Lots of drink and topping options and the crust is so unique. Try and get a rooftop seat! Great views of Adams Morgan (the whole name -- not "AdMo" or whatever y'all are calling it these days)

Managed to get one of the last Mellow AdMo pizza's ever made. Service and food were amazing. It's truly a tragedy to see this place close.

I love the chain Mellow Mushroom, really I do. The three stars are only for the incredible lack of consistency at this restaurant. I could write 5 star reviews or 1 star reviews, it really does just depend on the day of the week. Sometimes the pizza is hot and delicious with great service, but most recently (2 times in a row) the food arrived with uneven toppings, slices, etc (which I can completely forgive), but it was also cold and not fully cooked. I will continue to go to the chain, but this particular restaurant is just too inconsistent. On a positive note, huge shout out to the mushroom pizza (absolutely delicious flavors on a good day)! PS-check the section for coupons as they often roll our appetizer deals.

do I even have to explain this? Huge fan of Mellow in FL , but since I moved here about a year ago, I have YET to have a good pizza from the Adams Morgan location as if they have no quality checks or care in the world about how your order tastes. This was the straw that broke the camels back below

We were walking around after the parade today looking for something quick to eat and stumbled across mellow mushroom. Only the upstairs patio was open this evening so I can't comment on the inside but we had the most amazing time! The servers were so attentive, food was fresh and hot and the patio was such a perfect rooftop vibe! Highly recommend for a cute casual date night

FYI - I've only ordered food for pickup during the pandemic. Food was amazing! I'm familiar with Mellow Mushroom from other locations, so this did not disappoint. Staff was friendly and efficient.

In DC for the weekend and went Friday night and closed for a private event. No worries there. Go back Saturday evening at 9:15. Website and Google says open until 11:00. Guy at the front says they closed early because “of the rain” and we can’t order food. Closing almost 2 hours early on a Memorial Day weekend Saturday? Cmon guys!

Nice atmosphere, fun and respectful staff, and the pizza we had was excellent. (The margarita I had wasn't bad either!) Really nice visit!
UPDATE -- this is embarrassing to admit, but I have found out that most of my issues with toppings not being correct is my own fault. Ramy from Mellow Mushroom in AdMo was VERY helpful and helped me figure out what I was doing wrong. Bumping them up another star and hope you stop by/get delivery soon!

We LOVE Mellow Mushroom! First, MM brings me memories of college since there was one in my college town and we went alllll the time. Such fun restaurants with great decor and obviously, food! I've been to this location a number of times (pre pandemic) and it was just as fun. Looooove their rooftop, going there to watch games, and just to eat. During the pandemic we've ordered their pizzas a few times and oh man, so delicious. Our fav is the buffalo chicken pizza, if you like buffalo wings, this is it! Definitely order from MM if you want some great pizza/calzones!

Went back again after three years, and I hate to say it, but the pizza is worse! Now you get plenty of mushrooms (hurray!) But now they slather it with "garlic aoli" otherwise known as mayonnaise. Yuk! Tastes more like bad Central American pizza than something out of Napoli. Crust still great, wait staff fantastic, wonderful (non depressing) venue to beat the Covid blahs. Down to two stars from three. Here is my previous review:Fantastic crust, tasty sauce and cheese, but way too skimpy on the veggies! When you order a mushroom pizza, don't expect more than a symbol few...but if you want meat, they load it up. Also, the service is slow and the atmosphere depressing."
