Great spot for Turkish food. Thought I was back in Istanbul minus the mojitos hahaha. But they were good too. No worries, they do it all here. Phone usually eats first but I was ravenous so no pics for this one. But don’t let that dissuade you. Start with the assorted dip sampler and make sure you get the lamb shank house special. Throw in a few other dishes and you have a sumptuous banquet you will never forget. Others will be envious of the story lol. Really good food and great service! Everything felt authentic! Great experience all around. 10 out of 10 recommend 🙌🏼

My friends and I had an excellent outdoor brunch here! Our food was delicious and they gave us complimentary tea at the end! We were initially shocked at how empty the place was (we had brunch at 11am on a Saturday), but we walked by again later in the afternoon and saw that it was packed! You'll have an easier time getting in in the morning, I think. Recommended!

The food and drinks were good, and the atmosphere was nice. Would have been a four- or five-star review if the waiter hadn’t spilled oil all over my friend’s suede purse.

I have truly never had a worse dining experience in DC. We went for the bottomless food brunch, but the service was so incredibly slow that we barely received any food—it felt like a scam. They promised to bring out a variety of dishes and keep them coming, yet everyone who arrived after us was served first. To make matters worse, A MOUSE RAN ACROSS MY FEET during the meal. The manager violently kicked and killed it in front of us which was terrifying. When we brought up these issues with management and requested a refund or even a partial discount, management was condescending, dismissive, and told us to “sit down and eat.”The food itself was disappointing, with multiple hairs found in our omelettes. The entire experience was disrespectful, unsanitary, and unacceptable. If I could give zero stars, I would.

First time being here and it was an amazing experience. Service was very good and amazing atmosphere. We were on a time crunch with our dinner, however, we make our way back after for couple drinks - that’s how much we really liked it here. Highly recommend for their food and specially for their Turkish Coffee Espresso Martini.

We had an incredible experience at Meze Restaurant! The Kuzu Incik Kebab (lamb shank) was absolutely delicious—fall-off-the-bone tender and full of rich, savory flavor. It’s one of the best we’ve ever had. We finished the meal with Künefe, and it was out of this world—perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy on the inside, and just the right amount of sweetness. Highly recommend this spot for anyone who loves authentic Turkish cuisine!

We recently celebrated a special occasion at Meze, and it couldn’t have been more delightful! The outdoor seating created the perfect ambiance for a lively evening filled with laughter, lights, and delicious food.
From start to finish, every dish impressed us:
• The shrimp in garlic butter was rich and flavorful.
• The grilled chicken skewers were tender, juicy, and beautifully spiced.
• The lamb chops—perfectly seared and paired with fluffy rice—were a definite highlight. Get one piece per person for sharing.
• A spread of mezze platters including dolmas, falafel, fritters, and fresh bread with spiced oil (slightly sweet) made it a true Mediterranean feast.
• The Greek yogurt with nuts and red chill spices was the perfect savory finish.
Service was friendly and efficient, and the vibrant Adams Morgan energy added to the experience. Highly recommend this spot for a group dinner or celebration—you’ll leave full and happy.

I don’t know where gavur dagi has been all my life but it will be in my future. The lentil soup was fab. Great food. Great service. Reasonable prices.

Have not been there in awhile...loud music makes it hard to have a conversation. Nice food, just a bit too salty. Good collection of wine...good service...
The worst Turkish restaurant I’ve ever been to.
If I could give it a rating of -100, I would.
The food was disappointing — the beyti was undercooked and lacked flavor.
Prices were outrageous: $25 for a single glass of rakı? Ridiculous.
Even the tea was served cold.
The portions were very small if the prices were really high
Absolutely not worth the money. I wouldn’t even spend a single penny in that restaurant anymore
Best mojitos in DC! And the food is delicious, as well!! Love coming back here!!
It's a fun place to eat family style with many vegan and vegetarian options. Everyone at our dinner party enjoyed the variety of foods we ordered. If you enjoy Mediterranean food, this Turkish restaurant is worth checking out. The service was great. I also appreciated the Turkish coffee martini. Well done.
