The food was great. Partner and I tried her food for the first time as we've had Ethiopian food before in the past and we weren't let down. We took the food away as there's not much seating in the restaurant at all. There was only one lady working there and everything was cooked to order and the food was really fresh. Took a little longer than expected but totally don't mind since it's cooked right on the spot. The meat tasted amazing and so did all the sides.

Used Uber eats - No problem.Zil-Zil - The meat was dry.Flavor okGreens -needs more flavor.Yellow lentils - okTomato salad -Needs more flavor and better green hot peppers. Maybe needs to saturate more with ingredients.Ijera- tasted mealy. No real tartness like a slight zing. It tastes like it's been sitting out for too long. Perhaps bought elsewhere.Sambosa- Didn't expect the cocktail size, but they were really tasty.I am retasting as I am writing this. I really love Ethiopian food. I have had great Ethiopian dishes throughout DC. This was a bit disappointing. However, the Sambosa-and the cooked onions make me think that there is more potential for this new restaurant.

I love Mimi’s. I usually get the Dora Wat; it’s delicious. I also have gotten the vegetable platter. The vegetables are always good and well seasoned.

Most of the dishes are not authentic Ethiopian flavor. Plus the portion is way too small. They're skimping even after asking them to raise the price if the price is the issue. Most Ethiopian restaurants give a whole lot more food for the same price.

I never leave negative comments but I was so disappointed with lack of effort on the tibes.NO FLAVOR at the all.it’s very sad that how tiny portions they give for the price and cover it with enjera. As you try to impress the Americans please don’t forget ur Habesha people and put some seasoning in the food.please this is no hate comments it’s constructive criticism!!

Just wow! I ordered the zilzil, chickpeas, lentils, gomen, injera, and sambusa with mimis special sauce and I just don’t have the words for how incredible everything was. The staff were genuinely warm and friendly people, and I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. As soon as you walk in, your nose will tell you that you have made the right choice!

My first time trying Ethiopian food and wow was I impressed. Very flavorful and the bread was amazing. Prices were cheap for how much food I was given. I will definitely come again

Very nice owners. Delicious food. Not many good takeout options east of the river. Food takes some time to get so best to call and pick up.

I read the reviews and was excited to try this restaurant. I have long loved Ethiopian cuisine since I was first introduced here in DC.I ordered the tibs platter with gorem and fifit and the zilzil with chick peas and lentils along with an order of sambusa (1 of each variety). I asked for my order to be extra spicy with berbere sauce, which the owner obliged. The food was good, hot, and made to order.Contrary to the other reviews, I thought the portion size was on the small side but everything was tasty and delicious. Each kitchen cooks food differently and this one is no exception. The owner was considerate and warm and the food was great too.

I am a big fan of introducing cultures, but you will need to allow taste samples and larger portions, when requested, to encourage repeat customers. You can raise your prices, if needed, but be more giving if you want to make it in this neighborhood. All the best!
