The server was very welcoming and recommended great dishes to me and my friends. I had the Minetta Burger and it was cooked perfectly. It was the best burger I've ever tasted!

Beautiful cozy ambience. Food preparation was delightful. Service was attentive. Loved having the perfect sized round table for our party of five.

The food is great. The service was great. The atmosphere was great. The booths are really small but you will love the experience.

Food was good. The coq au vin hit the mark. Service was great. Noise level high. The interior design is quite lovely and takes you to old bistrots of Paris. The bar upstairs is quite lovely too. But, I just suggest the background music doesn't match the either setting. Maybe more old jazz or French classics to wrap up the package with😉

The food was very good, but the tables are so close together that your conversations are not private.

I've wanted to try Minetta Tavern since it opened in DC, but our Sunday brunch was a complete debacle. At noon, the restaurant was nearly empty, yet our party of four was squeezed into what looked like a 2-top turned sideways, despite plenty of open tables. We ordered coffees, a cappuccino, and a mimosa—none were ever refilled or checked on. Water refills were slow. Clearing the small table, which should have happened before entrées arrived, required us to ask, because the server tried to wedge plates onto a table still cluttered with used dishes. The food was even more disappointing. The $27 Panier pastry basket was a letdown. Aside from the madeleines, nothing tasted particularly good. Entrées were worse. The Black Label Burger arrived as a dense, baseball-shaped patty on a brioche bun—strange and not especially satisfying. The Eggs Benedict featured cold jambon and lukewarm eggs and Hollandaise. The Steak and Eggs was the real coup de grâce. We ordered two; both arrived as Steak Frites with no eggs at all. After pointing out the error, replacements came, but one had an egg so overcooked that when pierced, the runner immediately took it away. This forced staggered eating—two people started, then one, then finally the last—due to repeated mistakes. No coordination, no communication, and no meaningful apology. Yes, the manager sent a complimentary appetizer and removed one entrée from the bill, but it wasn't enough. The corrected Steak and Egg (singular—only one egg per order) was tough, under-seasoned, and disappointing. The low-grade cut of beef was difficult to cut even with a steak knife. Only the fries were a bright spot. Even after the adjustment, the bill totaled $179 before tip—an astonishing price for such poor service and mediocre food. The meal should have been fully comped or we should have been invited back. Fittingly, the bill arrived with a postcard of Keith McNally's memoir, I Regret Almost Everything—a sentiment that neatly sums up my afterno

We had a wonderful dinner and fun evening at Minetta Tavern. Our initial plan was to sit at the Lucy Mercer Bar but had our reservation changed to dine downstairs in the main restaurant due to a private event upstairs. We had a nice table in a corner and it was ideal. Our host was gracious and friendly along with Isaac our waiter. We had opportunities to chat with both of them. Our meal was excellent and would not hesitate to go back for lunch or dinner again. We have dined at Balthazar in NYC and our experience here reminded us of how well run Keith's restaurants are. Wonderful staff................

I am very disappointed in my recent visit to Minetta Tavern. I usually have a great time here but last night the service was extremely slow and we felt neglected at our table. It was 15 minutes sitting at our table before anyone came up to us and then another 10 minutes before we even got water. Super disappointed in my experience last night and it has made me question if I want to go back.

Wonderful food and service! The vibe of the restaurant is cozy and feels like you’re in an old time French restaurant.

DC's take on the New York classic is delicious and lovely but does feel a bit like a movie set of the original. The food is good but pricy for its location, especially when several other New York favorites and steakhouses are popping up in the same neighborhood.

Love this place. Great staff and wonderful bar tenders. Food is amazing. Oddly enough- the burger is outta this world. I’ve been a few times and recommend everything I’ve ever had. Bloody Mary’s at brunch were excellent.
I’ve eaten in the dining room and at the bar- never disappointed.
And the speakeasy on the top floor is a wonderful little secret

French onion soup and burger were fantastic. Nice atmosphere. Great service. Wine is overpriced. But if I lived in DC, I would come back often.

Food doesn’t match Minetta NYC. But it’s still great and fun to visit. Love Minetta.

This restaurant has certainly took the spot of the best restaurant in D.C. for me. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, Minetta Tavern has by far the best service with the most delightful hosts and waiters I have ever seen. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any event, whether it be a date or girls night out, the setting and atmosphere is phenomenal.
