Minibar is unlike anything else in DC. The service is flawless — thoughtful, gracious, and perfectly paced. The menu strikes an incredible balance between culinary science, artistry, and performance, making each moment feel both playful and deeply considered. A truly one-of-a-kind dining experience that lives up to its reputation!

My second time to Minibar, my first time was better. The overall food selection was impressive on the first try. Second time around felt rushed (we did have the first sitting so that could be why). The sequence of the food seemed out of place this go around, with far less proteins included, and the wine pairing went up $100.00.

Unfortunately Minibar has lost its mojo. What used to be an exciting, surprising and uneventful experience is now a dull, unimaginative, predictable and very pedestrian dinner. Gone are the dishes that were visually one thing but taste wise something completely different. Gone are the playful dishes., Gone are the explosive surprises (think the popcorn kernel). Instead it's just kinda ordinary. Other restaurants of this type have managed to maintain their allure (think The Fat Duck, French Laundry etc). Unfortunately Minibar is not one of them.

The experience was transformative. Not only are you tasting high-quality food ingredients, but they are cooked/carved/chilled/presented with perfection. Add the friendliness and professionalism of the staff and you will leave wondering if you'll ever have it as good as you did at minibar. Once you're done having the dining experience of your life, be sure to stop by bar mini where you will be treated to cocktails that are just as unique to world of potables as your meal was to gastronomy. Do both. Have no regrets. Or if you can't do both on one night, just come back when you can.

My wife and I had an amazing experience at Minibar. The staff was so accomodating and the food was delicious.

It's sort of odd to review such a well known and respected restaurant. There isn't much I can add that hasn't been said already. What I can say is that it matched my very high expectations. The food was inventive and delicious. The services was amazing.

They are definitely more on the experimental or molecular gastronomy side of fine dining, but if you like that sort of thing (and I do) it's a great place to go. It's a meal I'll always remember.

I don’t often leave a review but they went so over and above I feel it needs a mention. This is the 4th time I’ve been to the minibar where food meets science meets art is this elaboate food experience. It was my birthday, I took my two older sons for this special occasion. The first time I went to the Minibar I happened to want a d.coke as I don’t drink, they didn’t have it so sent someone out to actually get me some which I was very impressed by, so this time I mentioned when making the reservation to have a d.coke please.

Not only did they get some but completely re-designed a coke bottle to have our names, the presentation was ridiculously well done.

The food experience is out of this world, it’s pricey yes, but this is akin to if the Mona Lisa was edible art and you get to eat it!

If you can afford it for a special once in a lifetime experience it’s worth every penny! My only advice don’t worry about getting the truffle unless you’re a real truffle lover.

Great dining experience. Appreciated all the that innovative, time-consuming creations and the hospitality. The only thing I wished for was one more meat course instead of the game bird.

Minibar was sick, will be back. Top tier food and even better service. Alexis is the best.

minibar is D.C.’s most avant-garde experience, a modernist tasting menu filled with micro bites, technical flourishes, and moments of surprise.

Its uniqueness is its intellectual playfulness. Dishes provoke curiosity as much as flavor.

Dish I liked: The One-Bite Green Taco — crisp, vegetal, and unexpectedly layered.

Great experience. Didn't have alcohol-free pairing but staff provided great choice based on alcohol-free cocktails on menu. Amazing food with great service.

The food was excellent. But we felt that the quality-to-price ratio, similar to Jônt, was lower than other Michelin Star restaurants in DC.

We spent $548.21/person (including mocktail pairings, tax, and service fee) for less food that was less delicious and more expensive than Little Pearl or Pineapple and Pearls. (Unaffiliated.)

That said, the non-alcoholic mocktail pairings were a stand-out. Truly exceptional. If they mass-produced, bottled, and sold their merchandise, I would be the first buyer!

Impeccable presentation, flavor and service. As good as it gets. Deserves the Michelin rating.

Janet

Impeccable service and attention to detail! It was a fabulous evening. The champagne and wine pairing really enhance the experience.
