I'm saddened that I wasn't able to give this experience all 5 stars because certain aspects were superb. Out of fairness to all the things done right, I'll start with the positive and leave my biggest complaint to the end. The service was incredible. When we pointed out that with the background noise from the private table behind us, the music, and the ventilation system we weren't able to hear the descriptions of the dishes given to the group, from that point...
This was our third visit to minibar, and we were surprised and delighted -- as always. Some of the dishes were truly extraordinary. We are very positive about Mr. Andrés and his contribution to the D.C. food scene. The restaurant's HVAC system struggled to maintain a consistent, comfortable temperature, and some cooking odors were overpowering. when they should have been exhausted closer to the source. Otherwise, a charming and delightful experience throughout.
