Wonderful experience. Sat at the bar and had the 4 course menu. Added the supplement and am glad we did. Great experience.

Incredible. I've been twice and it has been incredible both times. The second time I went I wasn't feeling well (unrelated to Mita obviously) and about halfway thru I couldn't keep going with the tasting menu and they were EXTREMELY accommodating and professional. The food is the most delicious food in the world and the staff is so high level good at their jobs. You can only love this place.

my partner and i made a reservation back in june 2025 and weren't impressed. is it unique? sure, it's all vegan, but even that is dubious as the concept felt hollow in practice. over the 14 course tasting menu, we enjoyed new experiences with familiar and unfamiliar ingredients alike. however, our dining experience was marred by the staff's storytelling with each dish erring on being tacky rather than heartfelt. the push to engage all of our senses during tastings felt disingenuous rather than a genuine attempt to get us to truly appreciate each ingredient. perhaps because we didn't want to do a wine pairing? we may not have been the target audience, but surely there are better fine dining experiences in dc. save your money unless you don't feel a need to. Food and service was amazing. The lights inside are surgical level, so if you're looking for a darker, more relaxed ambience... this isn't your spot. It was also really quiet in here, so we felt like we couldn't talk at dinner - almost like we were in a library.
Fantastic food. We did not leave a morsel on the plate. Fun experience. Amazing food and delicious. Creative yet very yummy cuisine❤️
On the side of road with a flat tire and raining. They STILL charged me a late/no-show fee. I guess they don’t care about repeat customers…

Great experience! One of the best vegan restaurants I've had (and Ive been vegan almost all my life!)
Went during Restaurant Week for my partner’s birthday and we had an excellent time. The whole experience was well curated, delicious, and friendly. We had a three course meal, and also went for the supplement and wine pairings. Everything was delicious. I would recommend. Updated from previous review on 2026-02-14
One of the best fine dining experiences we have had in DC. Food was excellent and unique. Service was amazing and the atmosphere was fun and romantic.
It was an exquisite, special evening. The food was eye-closing savory, the service was stellar and the non alcoholic cocktail was probably the best I've ever had.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Excellent and inventive food, great drink pairings, and great service!
Would not return (meat eater), nor would the 2 vegetarians in our party. Overpriced and underwhelming. Oyster Oyster was vastly more enjoyable and worthwhile, as far as the two Michelin Star vegetarian restaurants in DC go.

Pricy for the quantity of food. Maybe would have been better if their regular menu instead of restaurant week. Enjoyed the option of upscale vegan and friendly service.
I dined at MITA during DC Restaurant Week and, unfortunately, the experience was disappointing—primarily due to service inconsistencies rather than the food itself.
Because Restaurant Week only offers a fixed three-course menu, I called the restaurant the day before to ask whether it would be possible to switch to the signature tasting menu or to order additional dishes if we were still hungry. I was clearly told that while the Restaurant Week menu could not be changed, additional items could be ordered if needed.
On the day of our reservation, DC was experiencing severe snow conditions, and parking was extremely difficult. I called ahead to inform the restaurant that we would be slightly late, and they confirmed this would not be an issue.
Upon arrival, however, the welcome was noticeably cold. The host did not smile, did not offer guidance to the table, and left me standing without explanation. A server eventually came over and led me to the table without any acknowledgment of the situation.
Another concerning issue was coat check service. While I observed other guests being proactively offered coat check, neither my friend nor I were offered this. We had to return to the front desk ourselves to request it.
While the dishes themselves were introduced when served, our cocktails were delivered by a different staff member with no explanation, no acknowledgment, and no interaction—simply placed on the table and left.
Despite being told the restaurant was extremely busy and operating on a tight schedule, approximately two-thirds of the dining room remained empty throughout our meal.
When we later asked about ordering additional food—based on what we had been told during our phone call the previous day—we were informed that nothing else could be ordered.
Lastly, this reservation was noted as a birthday celebration, yet there was no acknowledgment of this at any point during the evening.
I understand the limitations of Restaurant Week menus. However, for a Michelin-recognized restaurant, hospitality, consistency, and basic attentiveness should not depend on which menu a guest is ordering. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell well below expectations.
