Modern Market Eatery

I really liked this fast casual type restaurant. It's the kind of place where you order your food at the counter and they bring it to you at your seat. There were so many options on the menu that I wanted to try and I was really happy with what I ended up getting. I thought the portions were or big enough and I'm looking forward to going back and trying other menu items.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! We ordered lunch for a meeting from Modern Market. Their deliveries are handled by Doordash. The first Doordasher delivered our food to a random wrong location; was extremely rude and unhelpful when I reiterated our address, and refused to bring us the food we'd paid for. Modern Market said they could do nothing to communicate with the Doordasher who delivered our food to the wrong address. I communicated the error to both Doordash and Modern Market, both of whom confirmed that a new order was being placed. However, when the new Doordasher arrived at Modern Market to pick up our order, Modern Market claimed they'd never received the order (false, as I spoke with one of their store associates and received an email confirming my order). We will never work with this place again!

Cold mac and chesse, no ice, no staws, dry chicken. Nice lady at the counter let me take chairs outside only nice about this place. I bet g street would have been better

I went here the first time and I wasn’t too happy with my entree, the salad was delicious and convinced me it truly a salad place but today when I went back was when I learned physically telling a place what you didn’t like the first time will 100% improve on your next experience. I asked the person to make the food the way they would eat it because honestly every one is different. Soooogood 10 stars honestly. And mostly everything is gluten free.

Their sweet potato curry bowl was really delicious.. service was great and their overall menu had lots of goodies. Is this place a chain? Wish they were in NYC.

Modern Market is my pick for the biggest rip-off in the entire K St corridor, if not all of DC. There are dozens if not hundreds of restaurants within walking distance of here that offer food just as good if not significantly better for literally HALF the price. $15+ with tax for a passable sandwich the size of a postage stamp? You're lucky if you can find anything that constitutes an actual meal here for under $13, which is a complete joke for casual dining. Ownership needs to stop living in a fantasy world, get real, and adjust their prices to get back in tune with reality.

5 star service. The staff is always attentive and friendly. Modern Market is one of my favorite spots. The chicken bowl is delicious. The last time I visited I realized that they didn’t put any meat on my bowl. I was already at my office but walked back to tell them. They profusely apologized, remade my bowl with double the meat and gave me a free cookie.

Went during lunch hour. Had the carved plate. Had steak, roasted veggies, and Mac and cheese. Was served reasonably quickly. The Mac and cheese was good, although I did think it was a little runny. Steak was perfect.

Very nice food and great staff

Got the Thai Coconut salad and the serving size was huge and it was delicious.
