Nido Wine Shop + Market

This is truly one of my favorite wine shops in DC. I usually go for buying a bottle, or wine tasting events, and even taking focaccia to go.
I finally was able to sit down and have their vegan focaccia sandwich for lunch, which was a delight! Paired with Lambrusco by the glass in a cozy window.

A local gem and a must go to if you’re in the neighborhood!

This place was so adorable! I had a fantastic glass of cava and grabbed two vegan friendly premade options from the cooler. So grateful for flavorful vegan options! I had a hard time picking what to get. The cava by the glass was so good I had to snag a bottle to take home! Great bottle selection and fun quirky snack to buy also! Would love to go during the hours they serve lunch next time to be able to try the vegan focaccia sandwich, I was bummed i didn’t get to try during my visit since we live in a different city. Will definitely be back!

Amazing spot! Loved the food and the ambience. Fantastic curation of delicious and thoughtful items. The co-owner, Thea, is warm and friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. We will back for sure. This will be our go-to wine shop from now on!

Beautiful hidden gem next to Purple Patch in Mt. Pleasant! Swing by for a delicious glass of wine, the spreads for your charcuterie or a delish sammy (haven’t tried, but dying to!).

We had an amazing Mediterranean picnic with the most wonderful wine by the glass. Great staff and wish I lived closer to this shop. I’d be a regular.

Always a positive memorable experience with real people and great conversation...with wine and nosh! Lunch is the best as well as date night gathering of drink and foods. Love this shop!

This is my favorite spot in Mt Pleasant. Sandwiches are great, and Thea always carries the best fishies and snacks from all over the world, and welcomes you with the greatest smile ever. Wine tastings are very varied and always great. This place is a little gem.

Great wine shop that’s tucked behind purple patch up in mount pleasant. Lots of wine options. It’s cute and small (which can be a pain on the weekend) but worth it. They sell artisanal goods too. Will need to go back to get a sandwich some time soon!

Favorite place in DC

Nido is such a special place. It's a neighborhood gathering spot, an amazing lunch restaurant (the focaccia sandwiches and rotating conserva plate are incredible!), it's a place to try pop-ups from innovative chefs, it's a spot to chill and read a book, it's a place to get personalized wine recs and the best fancy snacks. It's particularly special though because the owners and staff are so kind and thoughtful, and so skilled. Thea (an amazing sommelier) has given me wine recommendations that brought holiday celebrations to a whole new level, and everyone at this women-owned shop will make you feel at home.
