We ordered the fixed menu, which we thought was a great way to experience the best of the menu without having to think about what best to order. The light appetizers were definitely the highlight, along with the desserts. I particularly liked their seafood entree.
The food was good but not great. Nice presentation and some interesting flavors. Also I found our server pushy we were asked if we wanted more drinks six times in the course of 90 mins. This happened to me several times - even when I had almost a full glass of wine in front of me. They include 20 percent gratuity so the server was obviously trying to pad our bill. Moon Rabbit doesn't live up to the hype.
This is my all-time favorite restaurant in the DMV (with all love and respect to Jose Andres). The food is so creative and delicious, as are the drinks. But what puts it over the top is the consistent service by servers who actually remember return clients, who understand the food and can explain each dish (and provide some cultural insights, as well), and who seem to enjoy their work. Treat your staff well -- and have amazing food and drinks -- and you will definitely earn satisfied...
